Also, I beleive Nitro planes dot com also carries parts for the HK 450 and 500. Pretty much any part on a HK 450 or 500 can also be replaced for the corresponding Trex part, and you can get those almost anywhere - but you do pay a price for them.

There are ebay sellers who strip Trex kits for the parts, so that's where I've been getting the odd bits. One item that proved very valuable was an AlignTrex manual. The HK kit comes partially assembled and had no details on the .pdf manualon the rotor head assembly.

I order Align replacement parts for my HK 450 and 500 clones mostly from Helidirect in the US (and I'm in Canada). I have been getting excellent service, and shipping costs are reasonable.

The framecomes assembled , and so does the rotor head and tail rotor.
I don't trust it so it all comes apart to be asembled from scratch.

You have to be kidding about that eBay seller??? Have you looked at the prices for many items? Over $100 for things like main gear, or grease. Must be something wrong with the store.

If you look at his ebay listings he has main gear for $6 or $7 shipped. I don't know whats up with that blue gear. Iguess some people like blue. Most of it is reasonably priced.

The best places to order parts, in my opinion, are:
Align original parts: www.*********4life.com 20% off and very reasonable shipping but they don't always have items
Exi and CNC parts: www.Xheli.com as mentioned above free shipping and the parts are very reasonable, and good quality.
Both Align and Tarot parts: www.ac-rc.com

I think it pays to get the original Align landing gear. You can upgrade the whole shebang for about $8. And if you're going to get a better Gyro, www.webberaerialimaging.com has Quarks shipped for $110!

Thanks for the information. I'm finding a lot of items out of stock (for the 600). I was seriously considering another HK600GT kit just for parts. It was out of stock too, but now it's back and about $25 less than before. I've got my fingers crossed that Phoenix will keep me from serious crashes, so I'm delaying more parts.

If you run across any dealers in scale fuselage kits, let me know. I'd like to do a scale Blackhawk, but a UH-1 is all I can find in military copters.

ReadyHeli.com - florida based
Helidirect - Massachusetts based

My three primary sources for parts depending on what I want &/or need.
Batteries I get now from ReadyHeli Voltz packs - great pwr excellant battery. priced very resonable & shipped from Florida to my house in Mass in no more then 3 days. ( No special shipping) Orders over $100>00 - shipping is free)

A source I use for my EXI carbon edition 450 and 500 is Heliproz.com. Trex parts.

Trex 450 and 500 tail shafts are harder than the clones. When buying main shafts specify you want the "Carbon steel "
shafts. Much harder than even the Trex standard main shaft. The guys at Heliproz tell me you can actually bend a standard 450  main shaft doing hard 3-D .

I've ordered some parts from them before. While Iwas getting parts together, to get my 450 pro back in the air Ialso ordered from several other vendors, all the same day. One of them was located in Canada. The part from Heliproz was fine, however it took a full week longer to be delivered - even the Canadian vendor's part got here first - I realize that there may have been circumstances Ididn't know about, but that was my one experience with them.

Thatmay have been the case, had it not occured in August. And regardless of what time of year it occured, my point was that every other vendor filled, shipped, and I received those ordera a week faster than Heliproz.

Any idea what the shipping date was? FWIW, I won't buy from vendors that use UPS. They are the slowest of the slow.

Heliproz is in Montana and I am in NW Washington. There stuff almost always arrives2-3 days after the order day via USPS.

Larry and Rick the two guys on the phones are heli flyers so you talk to someone that understands what you are talking about.

I was checking out their website and they had a display ad for UPS shipping so I assumed that's who they use.
I've had delayed orders, then find out they're backordered and waiting "a few days" for a new shipment. I can accept that I have to wait for cheaper stuff, but if there're further delays I want to know about it, so I can cancell and buy locally if need be.

Using Murphy's Law as a guide, the speed of delivery is inversly proportionate to the need for the item.
