Default What is this v2.0, with pictures this time

Afternoon all,

Thought I would try this again and this time, as suggested I'm including pictures. I picked up a copy of a Trex 450 heli while at a fly-in. The frame and other parts are very similar to my Trex 450 but it came originally with a plastic head and someone added an aftermarket metal head. I need to find out what machine this is as it needs a feathering shaft and I need to find the right one. Already found the wrong one once and that's enough. Any ideas are welcome. The shaft I need to replace is 2mm in diameter and has threaded ends. Heliproz has no idea, only that they don't sell that part. Thanks.

It looks like a plastic version of the 450.
The plastic head most probably uses a 3mm feathering shaft.
The metal head and tail looks like it is an Esky Belt-CP one. I`m not 100% positive from the photos but it is not a Trex clone for sure.
Still even if it is a Belt-CP head the feathering shaft may be Belt-CP or Belt-CPV2 type feathering shaft (different length).
If you measure the feathering shaft length I can tell you if it is a V2 or not.
The Belt-CP and V2 feathering shaft is 3mm and has bolts (threads) for a nut.

I would suggest you buy a Trex 450 V2 head and tail such as this one.
As the Belt-CP tail uses a different pitch belt and it will wear out soon the belt pulleys and/or the belt.
So fit one Trex 450V2 clone head and tail you`ll be OK.

And move the whole tail (edit) servo one hole to the bottom of the servo mounts, so the tail linkage is parallel to the tail boom. If it is needed you must make a hole of your own to the servo mounts.

You're going to want to check the rotation of your tail rotor. The blades are on backwards.

The feathering shaft is 54mm in length. I was thinking it was a 2mm shaft but could be 3mm. I like that other head you linked, very possibly will just do that.

Tail rotor blades are backwards? Really? I hadn't paid them much attention but like to think I'd have caught that before I tried to fly it. Thanks for pointing it out.

No problem. Looking from the right side of the bird, the tail rotor should turn counter clockwise so the blades are moving into the main rotor's wash.

Well, the Belt-CPV2 feathering shaft ( EK1-0404 ) is 3mm x 50mm long.
And it looks like this:

The Belt-CP (V1 ) feathering shaft ( EK1-0540 ) which I don`t know the size
Looks like this:

The purple metal head upgrade may use a different one.

The metal upgrade head uses a 'special shaft' which is 3mm by 50mm and is threaded on the inside for screws.
Here is one on FeeBay

Spiros may be correct on the head, it sure doesn't look like a trex clone head to me at all. The original plastic head is a V1 head (i think), which would have used a 3mm feathering shaft. slightly narrower than the v2. In all honesty, I would ditch the metal head, and either replace it with an actual trex 450 v2 head, or clone of that. You might save yorself alot of agravation later on, because you seem to have quite the frankenstien there.

Hey, don't know if you founf it yet but looking at the picks I have a hausler 450 that is the frame that heli has. Check out the hausler 450 head. I can;t tell you because I have since replaced mine with a hk450 head. Let me know how you make out.
