Hi I've been flying a blade cx and cx2 for about a year and a half and I can do pretty much anything these helis are capable of, including landing in 2.5x2.5 boxes and snap forward flips (I have the battery pack under the speed controller and a folding blade conversion). Until now I have been in a woefull financial condition, and unable to upgrade (other than a bcpp that was riddled with electronic problems that I got for christmas), I am wondering, is a t rex 450xl a good choice to upgrade to for my experience level?

OK I have a problem. I got a S9650 servo and installed it. I have a G500T ring lock HH gyro from JR. I set the travel limit pot on the gyro to the lowest it will go but it is not low enough. If I adjust the travel limit on the TX ( I have a DX6) will it limit the servo if the gyro is on HH? I have the control arm as close to the servo as possible now and it makes for slow reaction time and wagging at 50% gain. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

Wow nice video. I hope I can get that good someday. I have only been flying for less than a year. I am 13 and my Grandpa got me into it. He flies gliders.

Commander Bob,

I think the TX can adjust the travel when in HH mode. Try it and let us know.

The Trex is always a good upgrade, you can fly it steady till your ready to push yourself.

I changed the travel and it just changed how fast I could move the servo and not the actual travel limit.

Soneebee,

I got a new Honeybee King V2. I will let you know how it flys compared to the Walkera 22E. It does have belt drive.

Sometimes I surprise myself with my dullness. I have a 450 XL HDE trex. After changing out so many tail booms, etc, the cheap plastic frame no longer holds screws well. So my wife bought me a beautiful SE carbon frame as a gift, per my request. I now realize in looking at this thing, that it is built for ccpm. I have all of the head bling for the 450 XL and would like to if anyone can tell me what I would need to do to convert this thing to ccpm. I would guess that there is more to it than just buying the ccpm swashplate.

I'll appreciate any advice. I'd hate to tell my wife that I cant use her gift.

2often Grounded,

The swash is all you will need probably and the connecting rods. Assuming you have a TX that is programable for Eccpm helicopters.

Does anyone know of a good simulator for the V2? I'm a decent pilot but want to make sure i can fly the V2 before i get it and crash it. I'm looking for something pretty basic that would work well. Thanks for any info!

No simulator will actually be like the Trex 450. It just is as close as possible. I like RealFlight G3.5 and some really good pilots I know run ReFlex. Just run the hardest thing to fly you can find.

You need a gyro that allows lmiting. Gy401 is a known winner. Yes it will ruin your servo to do that.

The king is similar in size with the 22E.. but with the belt system.. have you built the heli?

I'd like to get another electric at some point, but the Trex 600 is kinda pricey, with $200 batteries and what not. Is that the main benefit of the Trex 500 and other 500's like the lepton, 4S and 5S batteries that are cheaper? Also, what size blades do they swing?

Guys,

I have received my new DX7, it comes with 4 DS821 digital servos.
Are these servos better or as good as the S9650?
I also bought a trainer wire to plug the DX7 to the DX6, does anyone know how to make the DX7 a slave?
Actually the DX7 can't control my Trex 450 and I don't want to bind it with the old receiver on my Trex
because if I do that tha DX6 won't control the receiver anymore, that's what I think.

I have a problem with my SE; before any flight; the gears are smooth. You can spin the rotor; and everything spin freely. After a while of being in the air (7min) it has a strange sound. I landed; and the gears doesn't spin freely as before. But if I let it cool down; it will return to normal.

Is that a bearing? or the belt came loose when it is hot??

I'm afraid there's a problem with your motor, is it hot?

I found how the trainer works.
Still wanted to know how good are the DS821 digital servos.

Helifan,

It may be the bearing, I had one in my trex tail assembly blow apart last night.

one of the ones in the blade holder. My assembly on my 450XL is a helimax version.

Hmm, then I don't quite understand why the rotor doesn't spin freely after 7mn of flight.
It can't be a loose belt, try to remove the motor right after landing and see if there's any binding somewhere, if there's no binding then turn the motor by hand see if it's not too hard to turn.
