Default What should my head speed be?

Guys,
Just got a tach on my blades. Turns out I am hovering around 2000 rpm in normal mode and idle up was 3200rpm. I backed that down to 2800, but shouldn't I be hovering around the same speeds? How should both of these modes be set up?
Thanks
Rick

That really depends on your personal preference. I really like 2650 rpm head speed. Ho0nestly though if I could get a higher head speed I'd try it. My hovering, or normal mode head speed is 2360 rpm and it's fine for take off and landing.

Rick P,
Hope your adjusting your RPM with a pinion change mostly. The down side of adjusting your RPM with the throtle curve is you may over amp your battery. Better to keep the motor running as much rpm as possible for power efficiency. slow the shaft with pinion.

So in Idle up you are 100% throttle?
