Most people put their ESC in the front. On the bottom. They put their batterys on the top mount and their recievers where my ESC is. I put it there so it i will have more air flow and not over heat.

The gyro mount is made by micro heli. There are other options though. I think this site has the best option http://clearly.wavelandps.com/

Here are pictures of my T-REX SA-ARF. I painted the canopy and fins. Also, you can see my home made training gear. Price under $3 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick. I went out today to fly, but only got one battery in. It was too cold for both me and the gyro

Here is my T-REX 450XL I got last week - It's a bit of a mongrel and got it 2nd hand but happy I finally got one... also an x400 I was given that still needs completeing..

* 450xl
* metal head upgrade but not the blade holders - The guy I bought it off kept them plastic as the "weakest link"
* Futaba gy401 gyro
* hitec optic 6 radio
* 25A esc but the guy did a neat job of mounting a small cpu fan onto the esc to keep it cool.

One problem is that it has jr nes371 servos with have higher mounting control arms and seem to hit the canopy - so the guy cut holes into the canopy to help the servos clear!
Anyone else had this problem ?

The metal blade grips give better tracking and it is noticably better, I look at it this way "If yor going to fly it into the ground it is going to break any way". Each to his own of course.

This is only my second heli. My first was a Sabre EF. I've just been upgrading my Trex trying to get it looking very nice. I figure, I'm new and barily learning to fly, so I might as well get it looking as nice as I can. I see others at the field that can do massive 3Dz, so I figure I can try to do massive bling, at least for now. I'm practing on the sim every day to try to get my skill level up. Its kind of hard when I've only been flying heli's for a 1-1/2 months.

The anti-rotarion bracket comes from the CopterX heli at Ehirobo.com

yeah, the Copter Rex mod looks much better. I am a sucker for blue parts though. They should make a green anodized version!

I had the head and tail Copter X also, but I saw the HDX 450se head and tail that was soo much nicer looking. So, the tail is from the HDX 450 in the picture, and I should be getting the HDX head in the mail tommorow. The only CopterX parts left now are the anti-rotation bracket and the lower main shaft. Its sad that Align does not sell an individual main shaft. I had a freaken bearing lining stuck in the main shaft and had to get a new one from ehiboro for $14 set.
