You got the correct servo. It rocks and holds heading like no other servo for the Trex. Install it same way you installed the HS55 except a metal holders are required. If you have GY401 set it for Digital servo before running.

I threw 2 grams of weight on the underside of the stock battery mounts, in the frount, so the canope clears and it help balance the heli back out. Love the servo! good luck.

Should not need any counterweight for balance. It is an outstanding servo.

Fly unless you are doing some hard core 3D CG on our helicopters isn't all the important. Just use a bit of digital trim and trim the helicopter out. Weight is a bad thing no matter what type of flying machine it is. The reason why I say 3d is because unless you are spinning the helicopter around is axis then it doesn't really matter if you use weight or if you put the swashplate a little off.

Hi there.. been trying o set up my s9650 but am not sure if i need to adjust the delay on the gyro. When my heli came with the align 6xp on the tail, ad it was extremely steady with the 401. Now with the s9650, am getting a lot of wag!!
In need of help!!! Thaks a lot!!

Set the "Digital Servo Mode" switch to "On" and set the delay to zero. The delay feature is there to slow the stream of data down (or send less data) so that analog servos can process it.

Some points.

The 401 should be in DS mode with 0 delay. Wag is caused by too much gain, either electronic or mechanical. With that gyro you should drill a hole as close as you can to the servo spline and run about 35 percent gain.

Delay is used to control over shoot at the end of a piro, not slow the data stream down, the 401 has two frame rates, 85 hz and 270hz and thats controlled by the DS mode switch.

CG is very important. If you use trim once you start flying around the nose of the heli will either pitch up or down depending on the cg, get the cg perfect w/o weight and you will be rewarded by a smooth flying heli. Also proper alignment of the paddles will go along way towards a smooth flying heli, electric or nitro.

hey all, I installed the servo and the new MH tail rotor system the other day and finally got a chance to fly it ( well try to anyway). The tail now wants to spin counterclockwise like the gyro isn't even there. I am running a GY 401 gyro and I moved the switch to the digital position. I guess I am not doing something right.

Did you check the tail is operating the right way? You may need to do some servo reversing...

You probably need to reverse your rudder direction, hitch and Futaba servos are wired diffrerently.

Give right rudder, the servo should pull the rod forwards, if thats wrong reverse the rudder channel.

Pick up in and spin the nose counter clockwise, again the servo should pull the rod, if thats wrong reverse the gyro. You will probably have to turn down the gain to prevent wagging.
