Default I can't figure the esc setup 35a

I am setting up my t-rex
it is my first time setting up a heli and
I read the setup giude for the esc
It says that you are supposed to start with the throttle stick at the highest position when you connect the battery to turn it on
I tries that and it worked but when i move the throttle stick down the motor starts spinning the wrong direction so i disconnected the battery and i felt the esc and it was really hot!
Can you help me with my problem
a few tips on set up would help me greatly
timing? brake? anything would help cuz im a noob to setting up helis

Sounds like you started it out right. After you hear those tones you will hear a single beep, move the stick to the setting you want, leave it there until you hear the tones again then two beeps etc. You want NO brake setting. Try doing a search here and on google. There are some vids online that let you follow it move by move.

Swop any 2 wires over (ESC to motor) and that will solve the reversing problem.
As for it getting hot? No clue, more info needed.
Swop the wires and report back.

Hey bro,

It sounds like you have your throttle channel reversed! The tones are different if you arm it at full throttle (program mode) vs. low throttle (normal startup mode). When at full throttle when you plug it it, you should hear muscial notes different from the standard "beeps" when at low throttle.

The reason I think this is because if you were truly in program mode, the motor would not spin up at all no matter where you moved your throttle stick.

There is a video over at helifreak done by Finless Bob that shows how to program the stock Align ESC. If you haven't viewed them already, watch ALL of the Finless vids.

Good luck!

Hey Red,

I am not sure if they will nix this or not but its worth a try. Go to Helifreak forum, click on the Finless help link. Look through all the vids to find the one about setting up a 450 ESC. He covers the reverse problem, the tones etc step by step. I believe if you do that your esc will be cool. I hope this helps bro, I gotta run. Rick
