Default T-Rex 450 ball links

The instructions say to have the "A" on the ball links facing outward. Why is that? In my HZO bag of parts the ball links have a couple different markings on them. Some have and "A" some a "B", some a "4" and some a "5". Does this have a significance? And finally, do I need to have a 1mm tap or something to help thread the links on to the threaded metal studs?
Thanks!
JLK

hi jlkonn,

Ball links have an inside and a outside. The A is facing outside, so the side that is manuactured to go on the link is used, not the wrong side. It will fit, but it is not the right way to do it. Make sure you use ball link pliers, it becomes an whole lot nicer. For the other letters, I have no clue, I am a TREX Align flyer.

Good luck.

If you look really close you will notice the opening on one side is slightly larger than on the other side. The larger opening faces in. The "A" is on the side with the small opening.(that is why when you make any adjustments it is important to make a full turn on the link so it is facing the right way after)
I hold the rod with my ball link pliers and with some pressure the plastic link will start threading on by itself.

Default RE: T-Rex 450 ball links

I didn't know this and have now installed some ball links the wrong way. I have still not flew my new t-rex 450 se v2.

Will it be ok if I just turn my ball links right again or have I destroyed them?

What happens if I fly with them with the wrong side in? Will they pop off? Will they make it fly worser?

Thanks för help

if you keep popping them on and off with the narrower side facing the ball...it will wear them out by enlarging the hole in the link

if you just installed them the first time..i don't think will will hurt at all just to turn them in the right direction

A little trick I do is use a white sharpie to "high lite" the letter "A" when you make up the pushrods. This way it is easy to see which way they go when you assemble or work on your t-rex.
