Its a whole different world from our 450's we are used to and your going to be amazed.... I'am happy for ya ! [8D] I had my 500 out in the yard today taking some pics next to my Logo 10 I'am getting ready to maiden... That will be interesting... Lol...

Cheers,

That is so cool! Havya sourced batteries and charger for it yet? I would be curious to see what/where you got you r batteries and charging system.

I have asked my wife for one for my 40th this summer. I hope she see's the need that I do. At first I was going to go the clone rout, but with this esp going for a little less than $500 some places, I dont see where I would gain anything. Stick a G401B and new RX in there and go flying...Oh yeah like I said above...battery too.

Cant wait to see some build photos! Get to it!

I'm going with 2 x 11.1 2200mah Kongpower in a series for a 6S setup for the near future. I'm ordering the turnigy 6s charger from flyhelirus along with 2 x 2650mah 22.2v 6s zippy's from them. very nice stuff so far from the kit. i'm enjoying very minute just completed the head with loctite.

Oh Yea.....It's a fine machine. I had my maiden 2 weeks ago. I had a bad tail wag in hover and set her down. Have not had a chance to test after adjustments.
It was my first fully blinged-out of the box heli. There is only one upgrade that i have seen as of yet.....an Aluminum anti-rotation bracket.
The 500 Is one of seven heli's that i can fly outside, so i put my JR 50 Airskipper in the wind.
30 mph gusts.... and the 500 was still manageable, even though the tail ended up being not so hot . I am anxious to get er off the deck again.

I actually built mine in early december. I put the bades on it and realized there was NO WAY i was going to even consider spooling that one up! The weather here has been lousy when i have had time to fly. Seems i have built more than I have flown this year.
Make sure to fill us in on the performance of that Gyro!

i heard good things about this gyro (align gp750). supposed to be way better than gy401. just finished head and tail setup. just need to clean up wiring and need test fly.

yes it looks intimidating.

she's airborne. its been raining all day in Orlando. [:@] oh boy was there a big spark when i plugged in the lipo[X(] i moved my furniture aside in the living and hovered her right in front of the tv. she's tracking perfectly. ITS INCREDIBLE. smoother than butter.

I just put in an order for servo wire braids to clean up all the wiring. I 'm going to really pamper her. Video to come soon!

thanks for the compliment O.D.

ok here's the maiden flight test.  this is straight out of the box with 1 pack hovering to track the blades.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtXtIXeSWkQ

tail is locked solid.  the align gp750 piro rate is very consistent. much much better feel than the gy401.  big thumbs up for the gp750

I'm going to dial more swash in to get a faster roll rate.   pitch is set at +13,0-13.  swash mix for aileron and elevator is at 65. going to increase this to 75%

Nice!!! Tail with authority. Fast climb-out. I'm considering trying that gyro on my new 50 Vibe....maybe.
How did you record that video yourself ?

i made a little hat cam that i attached to my baseball cap. works well.    you're gonna like the gp750 i guarantee it !  very easy to set up.  it also supports 760 narrowband servos for those high end servos.

I have just a little more tweaking to go with the ESP than she's ready to rip the sky.  next vid is going to be some fast forward flight with some big loops in between.   its leagues more stable than a 450 for sure.

Cool video Noobflyer ! +1..... Your in love I know it.... LMAO ! I've been busy, but monitoring your adventure with it. The Logo is using my 4 TP 5s batts from the T-500 as I'am now going to be using 6s Outrage packs. Still gotta solder them up, and install a new Scorpion motor for it along with a Castle ESC... It will be cool to see the diffs from stock. And stock was plenty...! Lol... More power as Tim the Toolman would say eh ?! The Logo's blades are 500mm on there now... You can upgrade to a longer boom and then go with 550mm blades as some do, but I'am not... A really nice steady flier, but not near the performance as the Trex 500 ESP. The T-500 is a Ferrari in comparison.

Can't wait for some more vids. Yeah, your hatcam works great ! Sweet....

thanks jeff.   let me know how that new power setup goes.  The stock motor has plenty of power.  my concern with the stock motor is that they run hot.  my battery, and esc is barely warm after a pack but the motor is a little hot.   i guess its normal for the 500L as other owners are seeing the same and not having any problems with it.   it just that i wouldnt do back to back packs if the motor runs hot.

Thanks Fly. Its been raining here in orlando for 4 days straight.   i only manage to squeeze that maiden flight in during a break in the storm.   a couple of more packs in to get a feel for her is all that is needed.

Michael that has got to be the cheapest 6 cell lipo i have ever seen! are they any good? I'm currently addicted to zippy's. performance that is similar to the major brands at one-third of the price. getting my zippy's here. www.flyhelirus.com
