Trex 550e 3G build and discussions
I have a new heli on the way I'm anxious to get it so I can start the build. This is my first time into the world of flybarless.

Hey T... thought you were consolidating! LOL! Great find on the bird. Not so great a find on the BEC, though. While I know you're using 6S and the BEC should be okay, please remember this... if you ever want to go to 12S on this BEC, do not. An RCUfriend of mine, Randy (RMG2) put one on his 12S Compass 6HV and it lasted only a couple of flights. It fried and took out virtually all his electronics. Castle has owned up to problems with this BEC at 12S and is replacing Randy's BEC, but he's still out the cost of electronics at last update (his servos are covered under a crash-replacement program, but still not at 100%). Just be careful, bro. I would not want to see you lose everything with this helicopter.
Can't wait for your build to start!

T, I've been reading a lot about the 3G unit. Make sure you get at least V2 software for the FCS... I'm sure you know that already knowing you and your passion for helicopters!

Got It Scott. Thanks again. You sure know about electronics! I believe the 3G units in the 550e kits is the V2 version. Or at least I hope so. [&:]
If you have some more info share the wealth I want this build to be absolutely perfect.

You have any problems getting your Turngiy battery from HK?
You have any problems getting your Turngiy battery from HK?
here's a quote from HC:
quote
Air transport delay, now resolved.
The previous weeks airport delays were due to increased parcel screening. Thankfully these delays are now behind us and we can focus on clearing the order backlog.
For those customers with a parcel thats not showing a tracking number correctly, or non at all, please do not be concerned, this may be due to a shortage in EMS/Air Parcel forms.
Because of this, your parcel may arrive before the tracking numbers register on the website.
We plan to be back to 24hr ship-out times within 2 days.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding during this period. end quote

I retail for this canopy is $82 usd [X(] that's steep for a canopy. Hopefully Fusono canopies will be cheaper when they make some.

she's all built mechanically. Just need to setup the FBL unit. Tommorrow I will discuss my build and issues I had during the build. More pictures for now.
