YS 120 NC RPM
YS 120 NC, 20/20 fuel:
APC 17x6 = 9500 RPM
Master Airscrew Classic 16x8 = 9600 RPM
Graupner 15x8 3-blade = 8500 RPM
Master Airscrew 16x8 3-blade = 8000 RPM
I am really surprised by how high the peak RPM went on the MA Classic 16x8. I am starting to get impressed with the MA Classis now.

RE: YS 120 NC RPM
Have you tried Graupner 16x8 2-blade?
MA Classic achieved high peak RPM probably because of its lower pitch toward the blade tips. I've put an MA K-Series 15x8 prop on top of a Graupner 15x8 prop, and the MA blades appeared to be flatter (less angle of attack) toward the tips.

RE: YS 120 NC RPM
I know the MA K-series prop flex at speed: since tips are painted, I can see the tip incidence flatten out when I throttle up.
So Richard, you are saying that MA Classic 16x8 is more like a 16x8-6? Interesting. I actually would love to use a Graupner 16x8 2-blade, but all LHS's carry only Graupner 3-blade.
I think for now I will settle on Graupner 15x8 3-blade for my CMP Zero. Definitely looks nicer than the thin MA 16x8 3-blader.

RE: YS 120 NC RPM
Let that motor turn them rpms....I have 4 120's and all my buddies have 120's and the more rpms you turn the better they will run ans last... I turn a 17x6 APC at 10.2 with my 120SC, fuel dosen't matter both on 20/20 or 30/18 Wildcat.
