Default Magnum 30 vs. 26 surpass readings posted

Wondering if anyone else has any experience with the Magnum 30. I've read good and so-so about them.

Suprisingly, my 26 surpass beats it at higher RPMs, but the Magnum is better at 10K and below.

26 Surpass: 10x4 Grish Tornado 11,800-12,200
10x4 Graupner 11,400
10x4 Zinger 11,000
9x6 Master airs. 11,700
10x6 APC 9500-9800

30 Magnum 10x4 Grish Tornado 11,000
10x6 APC 10,000

Are these typical figures for these engines?Anyone else have any to post?

I ported the intake on the 26 surpass to match the manifold, enlarged the muffler outlet slightly, and I think it may also have a slightly bigger carb barrel. This did make an improvent, and still runs, transitions, and idles great.

Magnum 30 w/10% Omega:

APC 9x7 9700
MAS 10x6 9800

I think the Magnum likes the bigger props. It idled much better with the 10". I'm going to try the 11x3 and/or 11x4 next.

Did you see the test report on the Magnum 30 that is posted on Hobby People's website? If I recall, it says the motor turned a 9x5 at 12,500!

Has anyone else seen this in the real world?

Also, the compression seems a little weak compared to the 26 Surpass. I guess I got a strong Surpass here.
