Asp 120 Fs
10500 rpm with APC 15x4W
8200 rpm with APC 16x6
Are these figures too low?
The engine has had about 3/4 of a gallon through it.
I use 12-15% nitro and 20% oil, of which half is castor.
The needle is only out by about 1-1/4 turn. This seems way too lean... But the engine doesn't overheat. Is the manual incorrect whan it says 2 - 2-1/2 ?

APC 16x6 9000rpm with 15% nitro 17% oil, ~80F at sea level. This is after 1gal. + of 5% nitro 20% oil (50/50 castor synthetic) of break in fuel, plus some 10% nitro fuel for experimentation.
This engine does not like all that oil, as the extra oil cools the plug and drops the rpm. You can check this by leaving the glow driver on whiling taching the engine. You should get a healthy raise in both idle and max rpms.
Don't worry about the factory recommended needle settings. Go with what your engine needs.
