Did you happen to weigh your engine?
I have a QQ 69" yak with an OS 1.20AX that spins that same prop at 9100rpm peak richended to 8800rpm for flight.
I'm sick of the mess from glow and would love to go gas with it. The specs suggest it is really light for it's capacity but i want to check with some real owners before i make a decision to buy it.

Hey Custom definatley a light engine i had to put my 4.8 ignition battery right by the ignition module and the receiver battery as close to the front of the cowl without rf interference! The plane came in at just over 10lbs, and those rpm numbers are only on its third run so there only going to get better! If your sitting on the fence go with the mld you won't be disappointed. The engine apperently according to the manual weighs 37 oz with muffler and ignition or 2.3lbs! Its a 72" wingspan also.

You guys may wanna try out the APC props... We got even better numbers from them. The gas engines would not mind the slightly heavier props.

Stock muffler 5600ft, APC 17x8 8300 rpm. MLD 28.
In a quick check I'm seeing 1000 RPM MORE from the MLD 28 than the SPE26. Thats a real good deal for $30

Would go with apc but if you have seen the 18x8 theres no blade on them there not giving out the trust like a xoar gives out at a lower rpm, and try drilling out those props with a prop reamer lol good luck! But beside the point Steven the manual says 7500 rpm is the ideal speed but ive heard 8000 is a lot better so should i get a prop that suits 7500 or 8000rpm? But hey thanks for making such a great engine ive recommended it to anyone i know, and in my opinion much better than the evo 26cc!

You may also want to try the Vess sport prop. Very light, spool much faster than Xoar, and look great. Buy them directly from Vess, no mark up.
