Globee tachometers are not real reliable. Blubbery rich on a 9x8 should put you closer to 14k if even that.

I dont know man. I seen an o.s. 46fx turn 15,700 with a 9x8 on a jett muffler. You think I should only be at 14,000? Im not sure your giving the little evolution enough credit.

Lol no. I recently chatted with him about some of his motor stuff though. Thinking about sending him a tt pro 46 to experiment around and see if its a good deal or not he does. I didnt get a chance to run the evo today......hopefully tomorrow ill get some good info on a few different tachs. The other day it started out blubbery rich.....I leaned it down quite a bit but it was definitely not peaked.

He is not all he is cracked up to be. His claims are pretty big, his "engine guy" does some pretty crude dremel work. Don't expect a race engine type performance from his mods.

I've done work over the years on big 2 strokes in dirtbikes and what not. Haven't cracked into and rc engine yet but all the principles remain the same. I need to pick up a little degree wheel and go to town. Im a little nervous about digging into some engines though. Anything with a nickel cylinder sounds like a time bomb.

It makes perfect sense. Its the exact same with a nikasil cylinder on a motorcycle. The problem is its on a much smaller scale. Gonna have to get small enough tooling to not demolish the cylinder.

Ok so I got some time to run the evo in today. Peaked on three tachs right around 16,350-400. Richened it back off to a steady 16,000 with the 9x8. Ready to get it in a plane and try it out.

That is quite impressive. I would not have thought the Evo capable of that.

I have a 46nt in my twist 40 running the 12 3/4 x 3.75 prop. Turning a little less than 13,000, with 15% but extremely responsive. Prop works like an air brake when throttled down to idle. Makes my twist just float in when landing. The twist doesn't need speed anyway so it's a good combo.

I honestly didnt think it would do 16,000 either. Im kind of at a loss of words with it. Evo's seem to respond well to small diameter props. Its not the heaviest motor I've ever seen either. Im impressed for the price.

The Evo motor is the easiest to start of all the motors I have. They are easy to adjust and have a good midrange. I have started using the 52. It will wind tighter than the 46. I am swinging a 11 x 7 prop with a Jett muffler on a 52 in my L A Racer. Haven't checked Rpm's but it screams. I think I have 15 or more of the Evo motors. Have a 61 in a twist 60 swinging a 14 x 4 sport prop. It does excellent also.

The stars must have been aligned just absolutely perfect the day I tested it. I am not seeing 16,300 anymore. Peaks just under 16,000 with the 9x8 and stays comfortably rich around 15,600-700.

I would expect that drop off with the weather conditions we have been having the past few days. Warmer weather means more power. My race times will drop 5 to 7 seconds between morning and afternoon.

I suppose that makes sense. However, humidity is the big one. Colder air isnt so much the issue as the humidity. Typically the colder the intake air is going into a motor the more power it makes. Hence a turbocharged engine having an intercooler or aftermarket cold air intakes sold for your car, but the wet crappy rainy weather isnt helping build power I dont think.
