Default xl5 esc on clod buster

Hi, can someone please point me in the right direction on how to wire the motors to the xl5? They are just the original silver cans.
Thanks.

The yellow leads on the motors are + and the the greens are -. The xl5 is wired with traditional colors, red being + and black being -. Since one of the gearboxes are flippped and run in reverse(for 4wd), you will have to reverse the polarity of one of the motors(isn't really important which if you have throttle reversing on your radio). So one motor will be wired yellow to red and green to black. The other will be wired yellow to black, green to red.

That will work. The cans are zero timing adjustment so they run the same speed forward versus reverse. I just don't remember which gear box is reversed. If you hook it up that way, and it runs backwards, just reverse the wires at the esc.

Thanks Scottgir. I won some goodies for the clod from Ebay, some lower link mounts, axle stiffeners and 14mm adapters. Gonna use some traxxas steering links to do the 4 link mod. Keeping the original steering setup for now but upgrade the servo to a mg995. Will try and post some pics soon, if i can figure it out how to do it, lol. 1st time on forums, well been reading a lot but first proper post.

Glad to help out a fellow Tamiya owner. Nice Clod, BTW.

Thanks Mad Modder, I picked it up alongside a m03 mini cooper xb for a grand total of £50, lol. The mini was a bit bashed but fully functional, the clod was as new condition. Lucky me i guess, lol. Also have a Hummer M1025, locked front diff swapped to rear, 55T motor and a Ansmann 17T esc. I need to make a custom chassis to increase ground clearance. But thats for another thread. First want to do the Clod up. Always wanted 1 of this since i was a kid, but couldnt afford it, lol.

I have an M03 mini, too. It was my second hobby grade RC car. Just finished rebuilding it about a month ago.
