Default MGT 8.0 tuning problems

Have I lost it or what? I just broke in my MGT8.0 and now when I nail it from a dead stop it stalls out. It dosen't sputter or cough it just dies. This isn't my first Rodeo, but does the bigger bore make it tune diff. I've tried everything, sealed the motor, reset the needle valves to spec, theres got to be something I'm missing. helllllllp! thanx

Default RE: MGT 8.0 tuning problems

The 8.0 can be a real pain to tune in...
After break in I had to open up the bottom end a total of 3 turns between the MSN and LSN.[&:]
Your carb gap should be at 1mm, then tune the needles to make it run correctly with that 1mm gap.

They came with 2 carbs - #1 and #2 this # is located on the carb just above the flywheel, #1 is the PITA one I have so if you have #2 your settings will likely be waay off from mine.
