I just got and repaired a used 8.0 today, absolutely NUTS on power, but it guzzles fuel faster than my 350 chevy!!

i had to replace the front diff case, upper arm holder, hex pin, glow plug, shock oil and springs, and TONS of adjustment before I could run it, and It was a gamble because the guy I bought it from got it on trade and knew NOTHING about it.

it was WAY out of tune, wouldn't even kick, the hs was too rich, the ls too lean, the mid fully shut, after playing with the settings it starts and runs like a champ, I can't get over the power it can lay down, and its pretty dang fast once it hits second.

is it normal for the turning radius suck really bad? or does this have incorrect knuckles?

im really liking this truck, for having a almost identical suspension to a t-maxx its pretty hard to roll over, the strongest part of the truck by far is the chassis plate, that boxing of the chassis makes it really really stiff and strong, the last owner almost bent that upper arm link in half, and there is not one sign of chassis deformation!

weakest part are the knuckles, too small and dainty, rpm upgrade looks like a must and im thinking of doing a ofna MBX4 pivot ball conversion (if it fits) and it will be indestructible.

still getting used to the power delivery, i hit a ramp and right before it hit it pulled the front wheels and did a front flip (but it was ok) and once it pulled the wheels in second gear with me giving it only half throttle!

No engine issues yet, its 100f and high humidity and the water drop test says its only around 200F and still have plenty of power.

this thing is TOUGH, I forgot about a hidden cinder block and i hit it at 30mph, made a sickening THUMP sound, NO damage, then I lost control at top speed, cartwheeled it a dozen times, landed on its wheels- no damage.

WHY do people get the T-crapp and Revo instead of this?

well I broke the pin capture thingy on by hyper 9 today but I had the MGT as a backup at the track, i was surprised it did as well as it did and stayed in one piece for a hour straight of track time. stock tires suck for loose dirt (it was bone dry and dusty today)

esc??? nah, this boy runs nitro in his 1/8 buggies. that rig is awesome by the way.

When I eventually get a E-short course, you bet its going to be a ofna.

lots of people are running RX8's they are great esc's
