RE: Monster GT anyone have one?
Well I think 70 bucks american for a set of turnbuckles is a bit much [sm=angry.gif] I will just get some more stock ones. 6 bucks for 2! can't beat that

me either. they are more for serious racers that need the extra beef. for bashing i'd much rather this be the weak point of my truck, cuz under high impact, something has to give, i'd much rather it be my turnbuckle or eyelet cuz it's a cheap easy fix. takes a minute to repair if you have spares

You do know that every turnbuckle has a weak spot to do what you talking about, the point of the eyelets is to pop out under strees saving you time and money. the lunsfords just do that better.

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?
I never bothered buying a replacement pullstart when mine broke. For less money, I just went and bought a 7.2V craftsman cordless screwdriver/drill. It has no trouble turning the engine over for starting, I just use it on the "drill" speed. Doesn't take up much space in my support bag, either.

same here. i only use the drill. the pull start wasnt doing it for me, even with constant maintenance. i eventaully removed the pull start altogether. but i know some people think it's a hassle to carry around a drill. also, from what i understand the stock pull start is junk compared to others brands.

anyone ever put hood airscoops on their truck's body to bring in cool air instead of cutting the windshield. I am thinking of doing this , do you think this will be effective ?

that cost twice as much. You have to by the spin start wich is like 30 bucks. than you have to by the battery wich is like 20 bucks.

More expensive outlay, but you'll make most of it back by saving the cost of replacing pullstart springs/cords over the life of the engine. Plus there is almost nothing which can go wrong with it...unlike the notoriously bad pullstarts

i made a scoop on a body that i sold off. its easy to do. im not sure if it was effective becuase i was using that POS axial .28 and that thing allways overheated.

no its not stock. its an after market engine that runs great for the first few tanks then it craps the bed. its hard to tune and its just crap.

cookie - you had problems with the axial 28? On the other board lots of people recommend it. I was considering getting one cuz they are relatively cheap in price.

If you want power and easy tunning good fuel mileage and one that will run a long time.LRP spec 3 all the way.I am running 2 of them they are great and starting them is easy too I have a drill start to put on them and haven't had too yet.Prime and two or 3 tugs and it's alive and kicking.

Sorry I am bouncing between email and forums just got home.No that engine is squeaky clean and new.It didn't have the pull start so I had one that was laying around so it's on there.I always use the drill anyway much better. The pulls on these aren't that great. You will need touse your old flywheel and clutch too.The engine is brand new even has a plug in it too.
