Anyone have a tip on how to best tighten down the screw for the spur gear. Seems like you need 3 hands.

i usually hold the spur gear with some pliers and turn the nut down on the spur. its the easiest method ive seen.

Does anyone have the axial 28 engine in a monster gt? I wanted to know what all around gearing I should run. I was told a 49 tooth spur, but do I need to switch the clutch bell or leave the stocker in there? By the way, I'm going from the stock 21 engine to the axial 28 if that helps. Thanks

I say try out the stock and see what you think. Then if you want more top speed(which you probably will) jump up to a 18t or 19t pinion.

i have the axial in my truck and its a good engine. lately ive been having problems with the tune. i think i have to lean out my lsn and it should be better. im running the stock spur with the rrp slipper pads and the stock clutch bell. when i get around to it ill get some higher gears because my truck just flips on the lid even with the tune out of wack.

u have to have the alloy GPM a arms to get the roll bars to fit. They have an attatchement on them that the sway bars connect to. They wont work with any other a arms

Hey Scotty! Yea, the track is to tight to crack the throttle more than a second or two. I love the MGT. It friggin rocks. I would take it over the Revo anyday. The MGT is so stable. The only thing I broke was the front bumper on one of those nose dives, but it just cracked a little. So I fixed it with a zip tie and now its bullet proof again.

Yea, I tuned that guys Revo right before we started filming. Its his first nitro so he is still learning.

I just figured out why I couldnt tighten down my spur gear screw. I dont have the friction pegs.
(Sigh)

Is this the best solution or is there a better slipper clutch arrangement out there for the mgt?
Anyone tried the RRP slipper?

I have 2 mgt's, one with the RRP slipper, the other with plastics....

To be honest, I am unsure the value of the RRP slipper. It limits you to 54 tooth and costs around $30........Using the plastic ones they are $3 a piece, and I can select different gearing.....

So I personally am on the fence about it. I'm currently running a LRP Spec3 and an STS .30 and do not have a big problem with burning up slippers. I do tighten them down all the way though....

I am going to keep mine much tighter this time out, as I burnt a donut hole in this last spur.
I just forgot to check it last time out and so no mgt action for 2 weeks.
That will learn me

I bought 4 or 5 different spur's from RCboyz on fleabay. Nice to have spares around and test different gearing.....I have also read about folks using washers instead of the pegs. I have not done so as I tighten them all the way down, minus 1/4 turn.

Well Im about to order a bunch of stuff from tower hobbies. Im ganna get proline bowtie 40 series with 40 series 6 spoke rims, another stock body only clear, masking sheet, the spur and pinion set (I think thats the gear I stripped http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFTY5&P=7 ) Are those the plastic gears in the tranny????, and a few other things to go with it.

Yo! scotty what kind of shock setup is that? would you run reds all around ? The one guy at the hobby shop told me just run stock arms they are tough, he also was saying to get a better header and run my stock exhust and bring it out the side. never saw anybody do this.
