Those are IMEX Maxx Dawg tires. I love emm....use to run them on my Mini. They are a harder compound and the side walls doesn't flex as much. My truck has never rolled with those tires on pavement. I normally run Big Joes for bashing, but the IMEX are a lighter (weight) alternative.

RPM arms and Factory Team Shock caps
RPM arms are supposedly unbreakable. I notice they lower the truck a bit..but makes it handle alot better and doesn't roll over as much.

Could someone please tell me some basic settings for the optional pipe? I left my car over winter pretty much and tried to start it up now and I can't remember the settings so I reverted to factory but those are waaay to rich (Doesn't even start, you hear some bangs and a ton of smoke coming out but then it just dies.)... don't really have the motivation or time right now to sit down and try to start it up with a ton of different settings with one working worse than the other.

RE: OFFICIAL MONSTER GT 8.0, MMGT FORUM
Hi Guys looking for help if poss, The engine in my MGT 8.0 has just gone bang connecting rod snapped and piston head damaged to replace these parts will cost me £95 or i can replace with a brand new engine for £110, my question is are there any better engines that can be dropped straight in to the truck or is the stock as good as it gets?? I have no problems with the .50 but if i am spending £100++ there may be better options, The other question is what would cause the damage i incurred to happen, i was running well and it just stopped out the blue is it somthing i could have avoided, thanks in advance.

Ok so Im sure the answer is burried somewhere in here but I can't find it. So I am planning on picking these wheels and tires up for the 8.0 [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXZSW3&P=ML[/link]. My question is what will I need to make these fit the 8.0? Some parts links would be greatly appreciated. I know I need some type of hex adapter but I don't know which is the correct one. Thanks in advance.

I found out you'll need to use Savage Flux 17mm hex's. Apparently they are the only ones that fit without any modifications. You can get them from Ebay for a great price.

I know it may not interest many people no more but if anyone wanted to finish their MGT Knuck-mod off, I have some Delrin retainers available. I have enough for about 9 MGT's at present.

For the MGT Knuck mod. Basically upgraded the suspension to make it stronger, but it proved to be a very laborious task and a lot of skill involved. These are just retainer collets for the larger axle carriers

I know this thread is quite old but has anyone ever done the lrp engine swap? I got 3/4 of a gallon through my mgt 8.0 engine but i dont really like how touchy the carb is and how unreiable the temps are. I was wondering how much diffrent in performance the lrp zr30x engine is compared to the 8.0 engine. Or maybei should try a diffrent carb first? It runs super good after tuned. Dosnt seem to hold a tune for crap. But after playing with it for a whole tank then i can have fun with it. Id rather have a reliable engine start it and run it then a heap of metal that needs to be fabricated all the time

Hi. Yes very old thread but much loved. I lost a lot of my RC gear due to a fire in my garage. My Redcat was totally burnt, lost all 3 transmitters, RC bag with all accessories, batteries, glow igniters, all bodies and a few plastic parts sticking out like body posts etc. Was a massive bummer. So to do anything I need brand new radio TX and RX, all new batteries and starting gear etc and new bodies. I need a new transmission for the 8.0 as well. But, out of all this mess, I did experiment with a .32LRP that I installed in the SavageXL. I only just got it run in and not even fully tuned but it was a monster!! So I would definitely call it a good contender for the 8.0. Has a really nice cooling head on it too. Try the .32LRP. The .30 revvs higher but the .32 has more torque and still revvs quite high (higher than the 8.0).
