transmision settings

Hi. I was wondering if you guys can help me out. I working on a monster gt for a buddy of mine. And I was wondering if you could tell me what the 3 speed stock settings are? And how to go about getting to them. Like do I turn the set screws left or right. And how much.

Thanks

are you talking about the tranny? if so the mgt is only 2 speed. or, are you referring to the carburetor/fuel stock-break-in settings?

If you want 3 speed you mean Savage XL.. or that wannabe CEN 3 spd.

You guys are right. Sorry. I talked to the owner and I missed understood him. It is a 2 speed tranny. Now back to my question. What is the stock setting and how to go about getting to it.

Thanks again

The stock setting is 3.75 turns out but be careful with that tranny. The manual shows you how to get to that screw and how to adjust it. If for some reason you don't have a manual, you can go online. One screw is for the tranny to be mounted to the output shaft and one is for adjustment. If for some reason you accidentally adjust the mounting screw instead, the tranny will have to be removed and that mounting screw will have to be retightened. Also if that tranny is not shifting, check the slipper clutch for looseness. If the slipper is loose, the truck will never shift. Been there, done that.

I wasn't sure which version MGT you were working on, so I got links for all three versions.

3.0: http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/ca...mgt_manual.pdfPage 8 for the transmission.

4.60: http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/ca...0SE_Manual.pdfPage 7 for the transmission.

8.0: http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/ca...gt8_manual.pdfPage 7 for the transmission.
