F3P and ETOC Prep
I'm getting into F3P and Joseph is also getting ready for the ETOC so we can build some synergy and make it a learning experience for craftsmanship. We were wondering what interest level there is for an F3P contest in the Northern Virginia area? This could either be an evening when folks are in town for a local pattern contest, or a separate event. With about 10 contestants, I would be able to rent a very nice sized indoor facility for the evening.
Some pictures of milling operations. I'll tell you after some long discussions with Dave Lockhart, this stuff is serious. Like if you are over 100 grams ready to fly you are pushing an uphill battle. This is our entry into this kind of activity. Very much an art form at this point, and few suppliers of the types of materials needed for these kinds of models.

Some pictures of Joseph's plane. We would like to thank Gerald Hood for assiting with getting us set up with milling, Dave Lockhart for coming through with a practice plane for Joseph and Chase Wolk for getting Joseph lined up with a practice site in Huntsville last week. We will be looking for an F3P type event in the Northern Virginia area later this year or maybe over next winter so stay tuned. See Y'all at Toledo this weekend!

Don

Clarification- the name of the plane is Thunder. I think that Joseph was inspired by Thunder Power. The batteries we are using are very well. Thunder Power 65C batteries, although Devin is using 70C Thunder Power.
We had a good evening tonight. Joseph has been working hard both on the known sequence and the freestyle routine.
Thanks to the sponsors of this event for making it an honor to be participating. There is a great raffle for autism. I believe we'll be seeing more F3P in our area this coming winter.
See you tomorrow for those making it to Toledo.
