The aircraft, like all the Xtreme Composite aircraft, is well thought out in its manufacturing techniques. The landing gear mounting consisted of straight landing gear legs that are retained by ONE very small screw and blind nut. After a number of flights on the grass field we fly at, this gear combination works very well and is lightweight. The landing gear plate (actually its a C-structure) works perfectly for the rear battery mount.
The aircraft is powered by the new super efficient Contra V4. Mike Gaishin has done his homework well with regards to the design of this unit, which is very quiet, powerful and efficient. The mounting arrangement is shown in the pictures.
This plane is about 70 grams lighter than the Allure- even with the robust rudder tray and heavier 900 maH battery for the initial flights. The smaller stab, thicker TE rudder and thinner wings in this design provide more consistent flight characteristics and a much more solid feel in lines and snaps.
Joe has been flying both the Allure and Alchemy in preparations for the Worlds.
