Default 2020 F3A Team Selection

This year was focused on F3A preparation. The NATS was cancelled but the AMA and NSRCA D4 put together a contest the weekend of 26 September that included the team selection contest. There were over 50 competitors including 21 in FAI. I would like to thank Dale Arnold for calling maneuvers for me over the weekend. It was great seeing Joseph and competing with him directly in the finals. That made the event special. Pictures below.

Finals F3A Munie, IN. Finalists were (in order) Andrew Jesky, Jason Shulman, Peter Collinson (congrats-first US Team!), Joseph Szczur, AC Glenn (team alternate), Greyson Pritchett (Junior team member), Brett Wickizer, and Don Szczur. The team also consists of a female team member Jenn Kimball, who flew superbly in her first F3A competition.

Flight order below for the Finals on Sunday.

Flight line, WIFI connection for scoring. It was WINDY. My complements to all finalist- the first unknown was brutal in a 15-20 MPH quartering crosswind. Most pilots landed directed cross-runway to a full stop before reaching the near side of the sound check area.

Great time to share time with friends and family during the lunch break. I want to thank Bill Pritchett, Jon Carter and the entire staff that made this event happen. Awards were broadcast live. Best of luck to the US Team and WC invites (7 total, although Kal was not present). World Championships were announced for 10-19 July 2021, with the U.S. NATS taking place the following week (20-24 July 2021).
