Thank you, I got it, opened the box and inspected everything. It all looks to be in good condition. I got to look at all the laser cut parts and they are really first class. All the lightening holes are well positioned and thought out. I looked carefully at the wings and they are 100% - straightest wings I've see, and the LE and TE... everything is just so nicely built. Any case my hat is off to you for your high quality product. Anyone interested in a building thread?

Here are the results. The zero dihedral wing resulted in just a little bit of opposite aileron and up elevator mix with rudder (3 to 5 % each) but more importantly the yaw is very linear across the full spectrum of maneuvers, to include 3D knife edge.
Weight measured as follows- ready to fly less fuel:
Left wing 3Lbs 11 oz
Right wing 3 Lbs 10.6 oz
Wing tube 14.8 oz (CF)
Canopy/deck 1 Lb 12.8oz
Elevators and stab tube (CF) 1 Lb 13.6 oz
Spinner 9.2 oz (non-lightened backplate)
Prop/hub 1Lb 4.4 oz
Fuselage 25 Lbs, 0.4 oz
Total weight if I added this up correctly is basically 38 3/4 Lbs. This is significantly lighter than what I was expecting.
The airplane flies totally different from the existing Extra 300 I'm flying. This is mostly due to the lighter weight, additional servo per aileron side, zero dihedral. Results have been very favorable so far.

What do you feel are the advantages of using a third servo (esp. with the power of an 8611a) on a 40% aileron?

I personally don't think that you need a third servo on the aileron of a 40% bird anymore. As you say, with the 8611a or 5955 servos at 320oz @6v two is plenty.
Ty seems to feel that the planes with three aileron servos and two elevator servos lock in better, especially in windy conditions. I don't see it yet - maybe I'm wrong. I do believe that with two servos on each surface you are minimizing the play around center you get with one servo. So maybe the set up to go with is two on each elevator and two on each aileron. On my new Extra, however, I am going with two 8611a on each aileron and a single 8611a on each elevator. Hoping to go with two 8611a on the rudder, push-pull in the tail.
Something else to consider is that an extra servo on each aileron, each elevator and the rudder + two extra matchboxes (for us JR guys) linkages, horns and servo leads probably adds up to close to a pound.

That was the setup I had on my 330, and the setup I plan on using on the 300. Just wanted to hear 2 cents from you and Don on any reasons to go differently.

Peter Goldsmith had an excellent article in the last Model Aviation relating to number of servos and reason/need for them. If there is any evidence of roll rate changes on down lines for example, that would necessitate a third servo. I have not tested this yet, but may do some testing on my 40% Radiowave that has two servos, then add to see the difference for a comparison. My new 40% Radiowave snaps crisper and has three servos but the plane is lighter.

Several have asked about the source for the Carbon Fiber landing gear- its the large style gear and has held up very well without any signs of degredation.
