Default 3 and 4 blade props

Hay Don got the DVD it is great I highly recomend it for any level pilot . Could you teach us about 3 and 4 blade props as compaired to 2 blade . My primary interest is to tame a Webra 145 in a 10 lb. plane and to get more constant speed all around and make energy managment easier.

Thanks Kirk

Default RE: 3 and 4 blade props

Dave Lockhart has excellent results with a 3 blade prop when he was flying 2C. I've tried 2, 3, and 4 blade props on the YS 4-C engines. I use the 4 blade because it has the best speed range, and is the quietest. The 2 blade has the best power and some of the larger 2 blade (18 inch with low pitch of 10) has very slow speed but again the quietest prop I found was the 4 blade. The 3 blade is in-between these, but have gravitated back to the 4 blade eventually.
