BRIO CG-BALANCE UPRIGHT or INVERTED?
Hi Don,
I'm curious to the manner you determined the CG point ( the 8 to 8 1/4" range ). Did you balance the ship upright or inverted? With the mid- wing of this design , does it matter ? Thanks! |

With a mid wing, I personally use the Dubro balancer, and do it upright. Only time I use it inverted is for low wing birds.

Thank you altacom, but in case you didn't notice, this forum directs questions to TEAM RCU PILOTS , only. I'm certain you have a wealth of knowledge to share .

RE: BRIO CG-BALANCE UPRIGHT or INVERTED?
Well, I think that altacom has a much better answer than I can provide, but since you asked...
Take your two index fingers, lift the plane about shoulder-height. Use your elbows against your stomach to support. Move your fingers back and forth until the plane is level- balanced (fingers intersect the fuslage/wing root at the underside) and then when its set use your fingernail to put a mark in the wing. Then put the plane down and measure from that mark to the LE- straight forward. Simple but effective and accurate to, say 1/8 inch. Don |

Frank,
I balanced mine inverted right at 8 inches. You know how well it flys<g> |
