YS-170 problem
Hey Don,
I have a brand new 170 installed in an Astral XX. When I hit the starter to it, the engine kicked and that was all. When I hit the starter to it again, I noticed it had no compression. I thought it might be a blown plug gasket so I replaced the plug and still no compression. The engine has zero time on it and before I send it to Richard, I was wondering if you've had any experience with this problem? I've had 20 or so YS's and have never had this happen. Thanks Greg Grigsby |
RE: YS-170 problem
Take a look under the valve cover. Sounds like a stuck valve or spring causing the valve not to close or something related to that. Not sure otherwise- contact YS for assistance.
See you on the circuit this year? Regards, Don |
RE: YS-170 problem
Thanks Don,
That's the plan but gotta get things going. I couldn't help but notice in the pictures you were flying Brio at the Tangerines, still dialing in the VF-3? Greg Grigsby |
RE: YS-170 problem
Thanks, It has taken a break.
The Brio is a good traveling plane, the winter plane, the practice plane. It takes these trips pretty well, kids kicking, piling luggage boxes, jackets and pillows piled on top, etc. |
