Default 33% Edge release?

Any up to date info on the actual release/shipping date of the new 33% edge? You said you were open to ideas about future products, a 33% Yak or Katana would be sweet.

the Edge isn't out yet??

I can't see them doing a yak when QQ is coming out with his 100cc V soon and CompArf has one also already

VeloxII would be interesting

The edge still isnt out to my knowledge. I think they would do great with a yak because not everyone wants to spend $1400 for a comp arf and sure the QQ yak will be high too. Plus the 33% crowd likes having the option of using an 80 for those who cant afford a DA, 3W, etc. I would want one and put a bme 110 in it

The Edge isnt out yet no. It will be on shelves within the last few days of Aug or very early Sept.

Thanks for the suggestion son new subjects. The issue with the Yak is tha there are so many alreay there or coming soom. QQ's etc.

Velox??? Hmmm I'm still not a big Velox fan.

Actually unless QQ changed his price stucture on the 100cc V of the yak your going to be surprised at the price.. I no when I spent a few mins with him talking about the smaller version I was really happy and surprised in the smaller version price over the big one.. and remember the 100cc version is lazer cut not comp like the big one

Default RE: 33% Edge release?

Mike, couple more questions if you dont mind. With the elevators in the stab sideways, does it take a 1.25 or 1.5" servo arm? Also, what size spinner does it take? I think I am going to stuff a bme 110 in the edge. The caps shouldnt stick out which will be nice, and no added weight compared to the zdz. Will have unlimited power without doubt, but managable. Going to run the 110 on the edge for the rest of the season to break it in then put it in a 35% aerotech yak and going to try full length tuned pipes on the 110, dont think anyone has tried that yet.

I'm using a 1-1/4" arm on elev. The spinner is a 4-1/4" (Tru Turn). Dont know if other mfg make one or not. I had Tru Turn tool up for that one when we did the 33% Cap.

Thanks for the info, I will either go with the tru turn or a pete model spinner, will have to see how the plane balances with the 110 first. My guess is that with the rudder pull/pull it should be close. I know the 110 with mufflers and ignition is 4.5lbs or so, not sure what the zdz weighs

mike, I read the manual for the new edge and it calls for 2 1/2 inch pro links for the elevator. Will there be a special hardware package for the airplane, I don't think the existing package has 2 1/2 links included.

Thanks, Jarod

H9 would get my order for either a 100cc YAK or Ultimate. Kit would be even better.

Mike, I know I might be jumping the gun a little on this new edge, but in the instruction manual I read for the horizon site there is no specification about the length between the firewall and length for the motor I m\want to put a zdz 80 in it. I'm excitied about getting this thing I feel like alittle kid. Thanks for answering my other question.

The distance from the firewall to the spinner is approximately 8-1/4" Its longer more than the Extra becausde the Edge firewall is set for the GT-80 with the 2" prop hub. Needed to move it back to keep the intake manifold inside the top of the cowl. On the ZDZ 80, that means standing it off of the firewall farther than in the Extra or Suk. It is the same distance as with the 33% Cap.

mike, any updates yet? are they ready to ship? Also, I plan on using the BME 110, which is 2oz heavier than the zdz 80. Would you recommend (since you have flown one with the 80) to mount a single 8611 in the tail, or pull/pull?

Default RE: 33% Edge release?

The Edge should start shipping somethime next week. If your engine is heavier than a GT 80 then leave the rudder servo in the tail. I now have mine set-up with one 8611 in the tail, with a ZDZ in the nose. I settled on exactly 1 pound of lead at the firewall, as well as a 2400ma Duralite for Ign and the same on the rx mounted on the side of the motor box. However remember the ZDZ 80 is about 2-1/2 lbs lighter than the GT 80.

I'm bow going to install a DA-100 in it and give it a whirl. HOWEVER, please remember that the 100cc engines are large for our 33% models and do void the warranty. Just use good throttle management when powering the model like that. I'm also using a 3-blade prop to "absorb" some of the power. (hey, I just live DA engines)

Geeze -now I don't feel bad about putting the ROTO 25 on a tuned pipe in the Funtana .
How about a Harrier wif'n a new 100 Evolution?
This altitude density really soaks up power ---

Thanks Mike, I didnt realize you had a pound of lead in the nose with the zdz and the servo in the tail. Like I said my engine is 2oz heavier than your zdz, and I dont want to add weight so will stick the rudder pull/pull to make it work then.

My bad. I thought I read 2 oz heavier than the GT 80. In that case, you probably do want to move the rudder servo forward.

I just added the lead to the nose. Just kept moving the CG forward till I liked the feel. BTW, I am not a fan of tail heavy "3D setups". Just dont like the feel of a tailheavy model. But, it guys prefer that feel, they'd want to run the Cg farther back than I do.

Thanks for the info. Are the edges in country and shipping to hobby shops next week, or expecting them in country next week?

Thanks Mike! another question, know you are busy though. How would you say the edge harriers compared to the cap? I know the cap harriers awesome with little to none (closer to the none side) wing rock. I would rather have the edge due to being lighter, but want a plane that is very stable in harriers, harrier rolls too. Thanks,
Charles

If it does do it differently-why?
I always thought you just neded to stick the nose up higher and add more power . (I do have the CAP-with a ZDZ100)
