I would like to see my favorite.....T-28C. Now that Pica has dropped out, very few T-28's are being built. And it would probably fly like the rest of the H9 Warbirds.....and think what one could do with the cockpit!

Maybe two versions.....One 'Navy' or 'Marines' the other could be all white and let the modeler CREATE his own color scheme.

A glut of Corsair ARFs? There's the little H9 .60, far from a 1.50 size. And then there's the CMP Corsair, but that heap of thin fiberglass doesn't count.

If there was a giant scale Corsair ARF out there, I would have it. And I don't. But I would.

It's time for a giant scale Navy / Marine Corps fighter, a Corsair and or a Hellcat. Bot would be nice.

I know its been said a dozen times already but 50ish cc gasser warbirds arf and arc's! Axis and allied . Topflight is leaving this opportunity wide open for you guys ! Just look how many of their dog-gone giant Moosestangs are out there. (kits and arfs) And there would be a lot more except that not everyone wants to see yet another stang around . Thats why people have been going apeshoot for them to bring out an arf/arc of their P47,Corsair, etc .

I think you kinda missed the boat on the recent p47 offering, just a little too small. I'm sure it'll sell . But the 50cc size would do better and this size isn't super costly as far as engine,gear,radio requirements.

p.s. I'm working on a Topflite giant stang now, I have 2 H9 33% arfs, and I'm already dreaming about my next warbird project , perhaps the great spitfire . Who knows , so get busy !

p.s.s. Anything that you could jam a g62 into (cheap and a buttload of them laying around) will sell , also people would like to see a reasonable twin, b25,a26, etc.

I dont think anyone at the AMA show missed that big P-47 in the entry. That plane looks GREAT.

I vote for a FW-190. A or D I don't care.

The way I see it, these are a few requisites.
The model has to be of well known warbird.
It must slow down nicely for landings.
It must have a wide landing gear stance.
A few birds come to mind: Hawker Hurricane, FW190, Zero, F6F Hellcat. My vote is for the Hawker Hurricane.

O.K. Mike (merwin ) you're right, maybe there isn't a "glut" of Corsairs...

The Hellcat or Hurricane are very logical choices...

The Wildcat would be really cool, but the landing gear would be a major hassle I'll bet...

There are probably a lot of WWII and Korean war vets (I know several in our club ) that would not like an "axis" plane...

The Hurricane would be a great addition...it already has a good "friendly" airfoil, and would land slowly...but so would an F6F, and you already have the rotating retracts.

I have a Sportsman Aviation Spitfire, and a buddy has a Kyosho Spit and we'd buy a 60-90 size Hurricane in a heartbeat!


If ya ever think of making a twin Mike, think about the F7F Tigercat! [8D]


WWI types that are sorely lacking are a nice Camel or Spad XIII, or a Sopwith Triplane.

Not just to goboom, but to all that seem to be INSISTING and DEMANDING planes for the gassers -- and to any Hanger 9 folks reading this ......


Not EVERYONE likes or wants a gas engine model. [sm=frown.gif]I don't want or like them.[sm=frown.gif] The gas fumes are a real turn off and stink up the whole area the model is in and what ever they are transported in. [sm=rolleyes.gif](past experience) Not EVERYONE wants or likes giant models. Too much trouble to transport, and that's even with a van or pickup-truck, too much space required to display at home (important for a model), too much space to store.[sm=rolleyes.gif](Also, past experience)

I've already made the mistake of a model that is too big and required a "chainsaw engine" years ago. I won't make that mistake again![sm=tired.gif][sm=rolleyes.gif]

IMO, Gas powered models =[sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif]

Models in the 60"-72" wingspan have proven to work out better in all the above aspects, glow engines handle them well and they fly very well too.[sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=wink.gif]

Please, Please - at least have the normal, more manageable, size available too -- if the giants are offered.

I agree with Richard L,

If you continue to stay with American Aircraft, and your current marketing strategy:

.60 size F8F Bearcat or Hellcat

If you want to venture out of the US:

.60 size A6M Zero or possibly an FW190....

I am fully aware of the risk of designing and building ARFs of rare birds.
The market gets smaller as you try to please pilots who are tired of the same old
designs. I'm sure you will risk these things later, but for now, you have my input...

Seems to me that many of the planes being asked for in the 60 size such as the Spit, FW190, Zero, Hellcat, Bf109, Bearcat, and Corsair have already been modeled by other companies. (CMP,GSP, YT, Kyosho, Dymond, etc.) Let's see something new and different.

I like the idea of a 60 size T-28, hadn't thought of that one, they are cool planes and the trike gear would make for an easy handling machine. Big radial nose to hide your slimmer and if H9 continues they're excellent lightweight construction, an excellent electric conversion.

As far as gassers go, hey, look at how many are asking for them, what was that saying I just saw " IF YOU MAKE IT WE WILL BUY IT " I would agree completely. I would guess that's the idea behind the 1.50 size, goes good in glow and gas.

First I'd love to see a 81" or larger P-40 Warhawk. Second would be the P-39 Airacobra. I think one of the reasons the Top Flite didn't sale that well was that they put about the most boring and dull paint scheme that they could find on it! Alot of cool color schemes are avaliable and yes, some had the eyes and teeth on them Since this is an American WWII aircraft, please I ask, please don't put the Russian stars on it. Thanks for asking us what we would like Mike.

I like what you did with p-51 trainer. Now everybodies high wing trainer looks the same . Why not and easy to fly FOKKER D VIII mono wing trainer. Stand off scale , camo would be hard to see but how about RED upper and cream or yellow bottom for good visability. White squares and black crosses only top of wing and ofcourse fuselage...........

To Ramon , Calm down guy, just because gas has been a bad experiance, dosen't mean it is for everyone. Lighten up

Somehow I don't think your market is going away , with the popularity of electrics pwr and a good supply of 60-90 sized glow lightly built warbirds already you don't have to worry , Breathe in calmly now.

And if you look at the market honestly (without freaking out ) you'll see that the market is under represented in the 50cc sized warbird arfs , and I'm talking "reasonably priced birds " that company's like Hanger9 or Topflite/Greatplanes can provide.

There's more but I don't want your nose to get out of joint again.

No need to lighten up - And I'm breathing just fine!
My post wasn't caused by me, but by those of you insisting on 50cc gas planes. And after an "honest look" at the planes available already - There's too many of those around now - just not everything is that size as some of you want.
Also - I'm not the one "freaking out" here, and it's not MY nose that's out of joint.
Could be more also - but I'm not into personal attacks, like yours was.
I'm just talking about RC model airplanes.

If you would bother to read my post - you would see that - the main focus was; 1. Not everyone likes those planes and a few reasons why(there are many others too). and; 2. The more normal, more manageable, planes are still prefered not only by me, but many others. For proof of that, just look at the majority of the planes flown at the flying field. That is, if I and most of the fliers I've seen are any indication.

Have a nice day now and try following your own advice. It's easier on the old blood preasure.

And you really make my case when you suggest to look at the field in that smaller warbirds are overrepresented .

Of course biggger craft are more of a production i.e. cost, etc, but its general knowledge that bigger does tend to fly better. Speaking in general of course. I think you know that .

"Not everyone likes those planes" BLASPHEMY ! just kidding . Of course EVERYONE dosen't like bigbirds , wow , I mean some like scrapbooking , knitting ,macramae etc.

A Skyraider would be great. Please include flaps too. Could be blue, grey, or camo. But not like the P-40. The colors on the H-9 P40 are not accurate to Rudy's whom it is modeled after.
As tailskid said above, A T-28 would be great also. If you do a twin, An A-26K, B-25H, F-7, P-38, or a Mosquito will fill the bill.

A friend of mine said just the other day that in this RC you meet a lot of VERY nice people. And that still holds true. I'm sure that I just misinterpreted some of you folks posts. Yes. Bigger flies better has been the motivating idea behind "giant scale" since it's beginnings. However, my experience tells me that the "flying" part is the only thing that is 'better'. Everything else about them is a negative. Again, in my way of looking at this hobby.

Some of the things that were said, reminded me of a friend that got a couple of us that enjoyed flying together and started an IMAA chapter here. His name was Ray Colleli. If memory is correct, it was chapter 226 - but that's been along time ago - I think about 1980- 1981 or so. I don't know if that chapter still exist. Ray promoted 'Giant' model aircraft. He also had a good line of props - DynaThrust. I've still got a couple of his DynaThrust 20x6 that I used on my quarter scale Fokker DR-1 Triplane. It had a converted chain saw engine. The engine was identical to the Quadra which was offered back then. - Memories! -

If flying the plane is the only thing you're interested in, then, of course the bigger planes well be more appealing.

I like displaying them at home too. Just my preference. They have started some interesting conversations, to say the least.

How about a Stuka in a 50cc gasser size. If you don't like gas a Saito 220 or Moki 2.10 would work great on it. No retracts needed and it is one of the better behaved warbirds.

Hey did I mention "How about a big typhoon !" yet ? [sm=lol.gif]

You know, it's funny, over here all the yanks want is Mustangs and Corsairs, over on the Sceptered Isle they only want spits and hurris , in Der Fatherland, FWs and Bfs, and I'm sure in Redville it's Yaks and Migs.

Since there are not many Brit planes readily available in the easy to use ARF form, I do the next best thing, put my yankee doodle dandy planes in God save the queen livery.......

But really H9, I'm getting tired of "U.S. of A" planes !

How about a Yak3 or 9 ? or Macchi 202 or 205, a French Dewotine, there are sooooo mannny other planes ! Those fixed gear rising sun planes sound cool too !

Be creative - please !
