Default H9 Ultimate 46% questions

Mike, I test flrw my H9 46% Ultimate today and it flyes great, however I had to but alot more down trim in the elevator than what I tought it needed. Here are the spec. Top wing insidence is -.06 degrees and when I have it balanced at 9 1/8 ins from the leading edge or the top wing. And it pushes to the belly alot in a hi-alpha knife edge. Do I have problem. I can mix out everything with my radio. Just asking. If you need more information let me know. Thanks in advance for your time. Andy

The pitch couple is pretty normal. It shouldnt carry a lot of down trim. A little perhaps. How much does it carry?

Would half inch of down elevator to keep level flight be considered too much? All incedences are set at zero.
What would cause this?

The model shouldnt be set at zero. Bottom wing is zero. Top wing is 1/2 degree LE down. Stab is 1.5 deg LE up. Engine is 2 degrees up thrust.

Mike,

What are you using as reference "0"? The thrust is measured as 2 degrees in reference to what?
Should we use the flat part of the fuse that the hatch sits on? Or do we use the bottow wing as the reference?

Thanks!

This is how I did mine. I checked the bottom wing at 0 with a meter. Proped up the tail to hold 0 on the bottom wing, then checked that the elevator was right. I then set the center rib of the top wing at 1/2 degree down, drilled and bolted it in place. I then put the top wing on and set the 1/2 degree at the wing tips using the strut adjustment to get it right. The engine went on last and I used the same guage to set it with washers. Dennis
