Default H9 35% 260 Stab Tube Bolts

Mike,

I'm finishing up my build on the plane and drilled the stab tube last night for the bolts. It says in the manual to use a 1/8" drill bit, which I did, but after doing so it's a pretty loose fit since the bolt is so much smaller. Is that the right size? Seems to me there is quite a bit of play, I notice in the manual it says 1/8" bit or (3mm) which there is a pretty big difference there. I'm just wondering if that's how it's supposed to be because the only thing keeping the stabs tight from sliding in and out 1/16" or so is that bolt going into the fuse now.

Thanks!

Nick

Could you tap it for a 6-32 bolt?

No, there is a 4-40 b-nut set in the stab. The hole in the tube just needs to be a thru hole for the 4-40 bolt. I'd rotate the tube 90 degrees and drill it again with a smaller bit. Whatever is appropriate for a snug thru hole.
