Futaba/Align tail servo failure???
Hi all
Hope this is the right place to post this question.
Need some advice/help please.
I have two raptors, one has the Align DS650 and the other has the Futaba S9254 tail servos.
All of a sudden one weekend the Align servo became stiff to move when the radio was off. The servo worked fine when the radio was on and never got warm.
A week later the other server (Futaba) did the same thing. I opened up the Futaba servo, cleaned it out with alcohol and air, re-greased it and tested it out on the heli – it worked fine but after landing, the servo was warm and again was hard to move.
If I move the servo horn back and forth very quickly, they will loosen up (both of them) but then if I leave it for a few seconds, they become stiff again.
Any ideas on what is going on?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Futaba/Align tail servo failure???
What is the voltage out of the regulator?
More than likely (I'm guessing here) its at least 6V, low enough for all servos `cept the tail rotor.
You will need to get the voltage for the tail rotor servo down to no more thn 5.1
Align heli has a in-line regulator for this particular application. The p/n is: K10381TA
Shoud'nt be over $7.00 at your LHS.

Hi all
Sorry for the delay in getting back - just had shoulder surgery - what fun
The voltage coming out of both regulators is 5.4V
