Raptor 50 Hitec servos?
When I first came here last year to ask about buying my first nitro heli a Raptor 50 Titan I was told that the Hitec HS425 servos I was using would get me by well I was getting to know my new heli, But that at some point in the near future I should look at getting better servos. So here I am looking at up grading.
I've done some searching on the net for info on servos for 50 sized helis and I find it somewhat confusing. Much of the info I find seems to be old and out dated recommending servos no longer available. Also I come from the old school (early 90s) of flying rc planes, I'm not up on all of the new tech. I know that everything is digital servos now days, but what servo do I pick? My LHS keeps a large selection of Hitec servos in stock and my radio is Hitec so I would like to stay with Hitec. Is digital the way to go?
Here are a few servos I was thinking about.
HS-5625MG
HS-7966HB
HS-7975HB
Are any of these a good choice?
I don't need a tail servo as I am running a 401 gyro with a S9254 servo. My heli is running a 6V battery (with gyro regulated).
Thanks.

Personally, I'd get Align DS610's
I've used 5625's in 50's and they are ok, and at your flying level probably just fine but the 610's will keep you from upgrading again later on.
Either of the other two choices would work as well if you're not thumping on it. I can tell you that 5625's will get sloppy after a while which I dont like for helis.

+1 on the DS610s I have them on my Trex'. . I've also had good luck with Futaba S9252's on both my Raptor 50's and my Raptor 90SE. Of course, I'm sure I don't push them as hard as Barracuda. I fly like an old man, because I am one.

RE: Raptor 50 Hitec servos?
Well I will have to ask my LHS if they can order in Align DS610 servos. Is there any good places to order them online for a good price? If I decide to go with the DS610 can I simply remove the HS425s and install the DS610s without changing any of my radio setup (program settings)? I like the way I have the heli setup now and don't want to have to reset everything. I was hoping to just pop off the Hitec servo arms and put them on the new Hitec servos, but I'm guessing I can't do that with the Align servos. Though I don't see it being a big deal installing the new Align arms as long as I set it back in the same spots. I just don't want to have to change all my radio setting. Though I do understand I may have to make some small adjustments to my trims.

BarracudaHockey the info you gave me in the past made my Raptor turn out to be a huge success. From the heli, to the engine, to the gyro it just works perfect. My LHS can order DS610 servos so if you say they'er the way to go then that's what I'll do.
Thanks again for the help.

Oh, one more question. I have Radix CF main blades on my Raptor 50 Titen and I wan't to get matching Radix tail blades, what size do I need to get? will I have to do any changes to my heli after installing them?

I don't mind getting the Edge tail blades if you say they'er good . Is using CF tail blades a bad thing? Should I just be sticking with the stock blades or is it just the Radix blades that are a problem?

They are stiffer so tail response is generally improved. I've also had problems with some plastic tail blades where the bolt hole can wallow out from the screw and cause vibration.
The only ones I had an issue with were the Radix. They flew great but were too delicate for me.
