You don't need it, it's doesn't do anything other then look good. I never used mine on my V2, it sat on the shelf. I've read a lot of posts where people have said you break more parts in a crash with it on then you will with it off, it makes the heli to stiff in a crash.

I tried it and it really stiffens up the frame. The heli hangs better with wind
The downside si that it breaks the bolts to the landing gear. After two bolts were snapped I removed the carbon and no problems since.

Yes. with wind the heli is shaking up and down with gusts. With the brace Everything feels more solid and heli flies nicer
I dont remember detalis though, I have it removed already several years

the only reson i removed my braice is so i can get my engine out easier...i dont really see how a raptor will fly better in the wind with the braice its not asif the wind is going to twist the airframe that mutch if atall...plez explain how it flys better in the wind with the braice. i just dont see how it would make eny difrence[:-]

I just tried it and I FELT that it made difference. But not enough to warrant breaking bolts.
If you can't explain it that's another issue.

The manufacturer thought there was a reason for adding it, so I didn't remove it. As for the engine removal ease, I find that the real pain is not the carbon brace, but the muffler. "Dropping down" the engine from the heli is not as simple as removing the 4 mounting bolts (as many people imply) anyway, since first you have to remove the muffler. I might as well live with the carbon brace.

Do you design and engineer components? also rc heli's are ment to fly not crash

RE: who youses the carbon frame brase on the rap50
The Amigo 50 (Raptor 50 equivalent) has always been sold without the brace in Japan.
I have never used one, I have never seen the need to use one....yet.
I may however fit one, one day but mainly just for bling.
The only part of the frame that I can see will become stiffer is the servo frame. The main frames are well supported by the engine mount.
As for getting the engine out, that is good enough reason not to use one as far as I am concerned.
Moorebaldy,
What you say is true but then over-engineering is also a common fact of design and engineering life. If I get to the level where I really think it will improve my flying, onlly then will I install one.
