RE: Raptor pics
the decals i got from this site.... they have quite a few other formula 1 livery decal sets... check em out..[link]http://www.rcgraphics.co.uk[/link], they also do custom stickers, e.g. your name etc...
the blades are NHP Razor pro's, the heli flies soo much better with them on, rather than the original woodies. the heli seems to be solid, rather than abit light headed with the woodies. they cost me around 40-50 pounds, wich is... about 80 dollars US

RE: Raptor pics
nice pics,,,but barracuda is right,,,,you will find very difficult to see the heli with the dark colors,,, I have found that the yellow and orange are the easyest to see,,,here's mine,,I painted with spray cans automotive paint and finished it with 2 parts clear coat.....of course I did all the prep work it need before painting.

RE: Raptor pics
true say cuda, the weather in this country is %&!$, i was thinkin of spraying the body shell, but i took the easy way out of it, and bought those decals, they looks awesome, but i agree with you, when i begin doing quicker maneuvres i will get disorientated easier, if i do go for the high visibility theme, then il definately do this...
, thats my rc car, which i totaly sprayed my self, printed out some tattoo patterns on sticky paper, and sprayed, il definately do the same on my raptor, when the need arises....
c'mon guys, POST YOUR RAPTOR PICS

Nice car! I wish I could paint like that.
Here a a few of my Rappy 50. First one is an older (about a year old) photo, still with the wood blades & TT engine. On the next two my Raptor is in the foreground (now with SAB CF blades and an OS 50 Hyper). That was a good day at the flying field. We all had lots of fun!

RE: Raptor pics
I had to paint my T-Rex bright yellow to see it in the air, but my R50 is easy enough to see with a Stars and Stripes theme. No pics on this machine, it's in my avatar and gallery though.
Brighter is always easier to see though.
These days it wouldn't matter what colors I had on my helis since they mostly just sit on the shelf anyway, no time to fly.

I sanded the white plastic canopy with like 80 grit and made it pretty rough,,,then I sanded it some more with 250 then I cleand all the dust with an air compressor and alcohol and put 3 coats of bulldog clear undercoat it's made for plastic,,,thn I sanded it down with more 250 lightly and put another 3 coats of gray primer and sanded down beatween coats,,,all this staff I got at auto parts store.
then finish paint with spary auto pain also the cans they sell at auto part store and I did 2 coats of that,,, and once it was dry,, like next day I lightly sanded it down with 800 grit and dust it and clean it with alcohol,,,then I ued 2 part auto clear coat the cheaper one the sell at any auto paintstore,,,it's like $40 for a quart and it comes with the hardener and you mix it 4 to 1. then I put 3 more coats of clear coat and that 's when it really turned looking pretty good it smoth as a glass and it just looks like a car finish it's awsome staff.
But you have to be carful spraying tyhe clear coat it's almost as thin as water ann it can run very easy and you are f@#!2!!!!
Here it's what I wanted to make my heli look like,,I'm planing to paint another one and try to really match the colors this time.
There is more pictures here as I bult it and painted the canopy [link=http://whiteknuckleairlines.com/wkabb/viewtopic.php?t=315]More Heli Pics!!![/link]

RE: Raptor pics
Hell everyone this is My RAPTOR 50 OS 50 FX has TT carbon mains. I really like the two tone flow yellow - orange so I gave it a shot and painted myself. About ten flights on it so far and it is holding up good. If you look in the far right corner you will see my Chihauahu, probably asking himself why I have my helicopter in the kitchen (at least he cant tell my fiancee LOL)

RE: Raptor pics
It is mine.
Decals were made with ORACAL film by hobby knife and scissors in one evening.
I spent for it about 100 russian rubles( about 4USD).
Regards,
Ramyl

RE: Raptor pics
wow niice helis guys
As some of you may know, over christmas ive acquired a number of upgrades, the kasama complete head, a set of S9255 for the cylic, and lots of carbon parts.
il wait for the weather to start behaving itself, and then il have sum pics of the raptor flying, atm, only ground photos of it..
i posted them in another thread, but il post em again anyway
note: my metal mixing arms havent come from the US yet, after i messed up the set they sent first with the complete set. All under warranty, so its all cool
