Raptor 90 Advise
I am going to be building a Raptor 90 Heli in the near future. I am going to be installing Futaba digital servo's and am considering the new brushless ones. Which ones are best suited for this Heli considering that I won't likely get into hard 3D if at all, due to my capabilities. Could someone please recommend to me a better/best scenario? Also is there any upgrades I should be doing while I build? I built a Raptor 50SE once and remember advise on throwing out the stock clunk line and also the rear tail rotor hub for a PV0499 one. Is there anything to be aware of so I can purchase ahead to speed up the build time? Thanks!

Some of the best advise is too secure the pins in the T/R gears . Front tail beveled drive gear. And the rear beveled gear at the tail rotor. The pins have been know to work there way out . I used heat shrink tubing over the gear to keep from falling out . Some have used brass tubing that just fits over the gear . As for upgrades its a matter of how much you want to SPEND .
I got the Elevated Engineering Open Tail box from Heliproz , in montana . for about $110 , Make it easy to check the gears , and pin in the Tail Rotor . Also gives more travel for T/R pitch . The stock T/R case , You can't see the pin at all .
I run JR 8717 servos in mine . with all JR radio gear . So I can't give You the best way to go with Futaba.

Don't know why you would want to purchase $150 servos if you are not going to fly hard 3-d. Save the money for crash parts. .90's are spendy to crash. There is a array of high quality servos that would be fine on a .90.

RE: Raptor 90 Advise
Thanks alot USA_1_Ink. I remember reading that pin working loose in the tail rotor on a raptor90SE build by another forum member on another forum site. It seemed there was some part update/modification like that for almost every piece that was put together on that build. That website is not in operation anymore, too bad as it was the best raptor build that I have ever seen, next of course to Mike's over at Raptortechnique. I remember printing that entire raptor 50 assembly on information from the Raptortechnique website when I buillt my Raptor50SE 3 years ago. Man oh man was that ever a blessing. I still use it today, although I failed to find the same thing for a Raptor90. If someone could find me something like that, I would sure appreciate it! Also to BarracudaHockey: thanks for the reply. I requested some info before when I was building my Raptor 50SE about servo selection which now has 4 Futaba 9252's. They are still working just as good as they were the day I installled them. Once again if anyone knows were a good Raptor90 build with lots of pictures and upgrades to do along the way is please let me know, thanks Ace9. PS I hope my Raptor90 looks as good as yours when I'm done USA_1_INK.
