Raptor 30 w/o.s 32
Hi all,
New to the forums here. Quick question. I have a kyosho nexus 30 and am looking to replace it sooner or later as it is 10 years old. I am looking at a Raptor 30 ARF and was hoping to use the os 32 from the nexus to put in the Raptor. Would this engine have enough power for 3D or just casual sport flying. If not, I'll break down and buy the OS 37.
Thanks!
Tim

RE: Raptor 30 w/o.s 32
The OS 32 is a good little dependable motor, it is a little under powered but it should work fine, just keep your head speed up (around 1950) and practice your collective management and you will do fine.
A lot of people flipped and flopped those 30's around with the 32 in them long before the 37 ever come out. Save your money for a 50 size heli, I'm sure you will want to move up some day.
P.S
If your thinking of buying a "new" 30 and then buying a new OS 37 you might as well just go for the 50 size heli, they aren't that much more, then you won't have
to worry about upgrading down the road any time soon, you will be a long time trying to out fly a 50 size heli.

Charlie,
thanks for the reply. I own a Raptor 60 as well, but I'm a bit nervous with it so I was looking for something else to possibly learn to do aerobatics and such. I was thinking i'll just fly the Nexus till I destroy it, and maybe go for the Raptor 50.

the 32 will do 3D with no problem AFTER you learn, it's a little low on power for learning as you won't have the grunt when you need to pull out when something goes bad and you're down low. I've got a Raptor 30 I've had sense the day Ace started distributing them in the states, it's got an OS32 SXH, it'll do anything you ask of it gracefully.

Thanks, been flying the turbines mostly for the last few yrs so I've stayed out of the heli forums but things have been slow over in the jet forum lately.
