Default Watch out for the raptor 30v1 and 30v2 tail case!!

Hey guys, this is my second time for tail case to break on me. When for the first time broke on me its probbly because i was doing some hard landing from autorotation but on second time, i didn't even put 1 complete flight and it broke from the weak spot. So to let you guys know watch out for this problem and if you're tail is kicking or something its better to look at that spot. Here is the picture of it. This happend on my raptor 30v1. But i believe its the same case that v2 has. I did a temppory fix by using j-b kwik. It's very strong glue and it is stronger then the tail plstic but its reinforce and i don't plan to fly much. I have my v2 to fly around, loops, rolls and other fun stuff. Here is the pic. Be safe and happy flying.

Thanks for the heads up Jim. Fly safe (and buy a new tail case, they are cheap insurance)!

I have a 5 year-old Raptor 50 and a 6 year-old Raptor 90 and I have never seen a break like that. Only time that I have seen a similar break was after hitting the ground big time but by then you have a few more parts to replace, not just the tail case. I have never seen a crash caused due to a break like that.

hmm, maybe I'm just not tightening the belt tight enough or something. it has a small amount of slack in it to where I can lightly hold the main rotor and the tail rotor will skip over the teeth of the belt. think that would cause a broken tail case? I just dont wanna break another one. Nickel and Dime, Nickel and Dime!!

Just tighten the belt where it will flex a bit u'll find review how to have tension i think thats the correct word. My reason why case broke like that because i had two different tail blade back then which i didn't know that and so it caused tail wag due to vibration. Anyways i got a align 600 nitro pro and love the torq tube. Rapter i still miss .

I didnt think of the whole vibration thing!! I guess thats where i got it from then because the tail rotor had a small scrub mark on it where it looks like it hit the ground lightly. That will definitely cause an unbalanced tail rotor situation!! Thanks for the advice guys!

Yea my vibration was pretty huge because of the tail blade both was different. One have more pitch then other. Now having just a little crack or so might effect it.

We get to the bottom of the story. So really is not the Raptor's fault. It was operator fault. Tail rotors are a ofter overlooked area. It spins about 4 times faster then the main rotor and should get at least the same attention or even more.

So, do you want to change the title of the thread? Since it has nothing to do with Raptor's tail cases?

I've had crashes that oblterated a whole Raptor, and that tail case was in tact after the boom was even twisted like a pretzel! I have several spare tail cases that are years old with no problems. That is a first for me to see that.

Hi, well its because of a vibration problem i had with my tail, for the tail there is two blades, one of the blade was different which caused vibration and tail wag, so that should of got the tail to wag enough and vibration was so powerful that it broke those tail case.

How do i edit the first post???????
