biggest raptor 30 engine?
 

What's the biggest most powerful engine I'll be able to cram into my 30 without upgrading to a 50? i've heard that without a governor, the OS 37 will bog and not recover in time during harder 3D. or will a much higher head speed prevent that more?

the 37 is a good engine but I don't do 3D. so I would'nt be able to advice other then, needle settings,blades and gearing are also a thing to consider, not just the engine.

bigger than os37 will over rev the engine in some cases.

Well there's the TT39 which is bigger but the OS37 makes more power, especially with an SAB6RS Hatori muffler.

30's dont have outstanding power to weight anyways, but if you dont have a big enough muffler the 37 wont have the expansion room it needs to make good power.

thanks guys. I have the 39 in it now, i think I'll just do flips and rolls and inverted flight with that then when i want to adventure into piro flips and tic tocs ill upgrade to a raptor 50.

I have the Toki 40 in mine, it makes much more power than the TT.39 ever did, it fit in the same engine mount, had to file the mount holes a little. it's a screamer

I have a original first get raptor 36 swapped out the engine with a OS 46 sxh and it screams ..had this heli for years and still flying..Gregg in ohio
