Default sources for Nelson paint

Are there any other places you can buy Nelson paint besides direct from John Desilets? I cannot get an order filled after numerous emails and a phone call ? I am about ready to file for a refund though pay pal and hope there is another hobby shop or retailer that I can buy the paint from?

Do you really need to use Nelson finish, I mean if it is that much hassle to get, the hell with them, there are allot of other very good systems out there. Just saying.

I ordered some Nelson clear and other than needing to call because the web site was not functioning I had no problems. My clear coat arrived within a week. He has moved to Wa state so perhaps the move caused some delay.

John was more than helpful with me. I sent a color sample and I had paint within the week of him receiving the sample. He even called me when I had questions about the application and such. The paint is much different to work with, but it is an accpetable alternative to solvent based epoxies and urethanes.

...and mixed to match Monokote and Ultrakote which System 3 does not do. Their clear and cross-linker oughta work fine, tho'...

Incidentally, their cross-linker will also work with water-based poly-u (like Min-Wax) to make it glow fuel proof. Must be very similar stuff...

Curt,

Could you give a little more info about the minwax poly and cross linker. The mixing ratio and test conducted to show it's fuel proof/resistant. I've used poly for years with glass and silkspan as an substrate but not for a topcoat.

Thanks,

Rick

Top Coat cross linker is 8 drops per ounce of paint,, a couple extra drops here or there doesn't hurt,
I've flown this on 20% nitro,, tested with 30% car fuel also, stayed rock hard
