Default bad lipo

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but.

I have a 4 cell lipo , one year old (hobby King) and one cell is bad!!!!

Is there any thing I can do with the other three cells???? I was thinking of putting two of the one cells in series and using it on the grand kids rc car?

thanks

If you have the experience and the correct solder and materials you can remove the bad cell and easily turn it into a 3-cell pack. Or you can replace that bad cell with a good one. You can wire the cells in series too but it depends what size lipo it is (capacity and discharge rates) if it will work on a car.
Whatever you do make sure the packs are at discharge levels and BE CAREFUL !

With a little care, caution and common sense it is not hard to pull a bad cell out and reconfigure a pack. There was a very recent thread either here or on Wattflyer on ways to do this. But DO NOT replace the dead cell with a new one unless the pack is brand new (and yours isn't). Time and usage change capacity and resistance.

thanks for both reply's, I agree BE CARE FULL .

I have been into elec. for most of my life, but I am very carful with lipos.

I like the idea of turning it into a 2 cell, series for the RC car. May do that.

I will go to watt flyer and check it out!!!!
