Default Electric Stareters

What size electic starter would you use for a .46 to .60 nitro engine... Would there be such a problem for the starter to be to powerful????
Thanks in advance for ur thoughts.

This will do just fine. https://www.horizonhobby.com/airplan...starter-han161

It is the basic starter. A Sullivan is the Rolls Royce but at least twice the price.

A stronger one can damage the engine if it is full of fuel and locked up.

You can not go wrong with a Sullivan started. And their service is GREAT, if you have a problem with any of their products.

Just like Ziggy said above Sullivan is the best you can get for starting your airplane engines! Ive had the same Sullivan since 1982 and it works like a charm. They are pricey now but well worth it!

I am digging out my old RC gear from 30 yrs back. I found 2 Sullivan's. I was wondering how likely it is that they still work and my brain said to me... "don't be silly, of course they work". Time will tell

Lee, I see you have posted on a few threads. In case you are not aware of the "Fall Nall", I want to bring it your attention. It's practically in your back yard in Woodruf, SC. The dates are Sept 24 to 30. You can learn more about what's going on in this great hobby in one day, then you can on this, and other forums. These forums are a fantastic tool, and very helpful, but you can't beat seeing things first hand. It would be a pity if you were available to attend the Fall Nall, only to find out about it after it was over.

I purchased a used Sullivan starter 30 years ago. I'm still using it.
