My 7x14 v-nose is from United Trailers, single torsion axle with electric brakes. I had a hard time finding a 14 foot trailer with single axle, and torsion axles and electric brakes are a must.

What many guys don't know,,Brakes are only required on trailers weighing over 3000#, The standard axles are rated at 3500#, So legally they advertise them as a payload of 2990# ish, add brakes and you have a 3500# trailer. With a Dual axle they know you're putting weight in it, so of course brakes are standard and you get the 7000# Rating.

What's you dry weight on that 7x14?

hair46,
Have some pictures?
i was thinking along the same lines but thought it a bit crazy!
A Van type bus was another option too. Kind of a pain in the butt parking a trailer at my field plus part of the parking lot is not flat and would make using a trailer even more of a pain
Thanks,
Bill S.

NHRA Conversion
I picked this guy up from the NHRA Museum. Wasn't good enough to keep and the Magnificent 7th District has changed their logo.
The floor was rotted through in two places.
A couple yards of Fiber Glass Matt and a gallon of Polyester Resin were needed to fill the holes.

Trailer was built by a company that makes Semi Trailers in Indiana in 1989.
Once the floor was solid;
I put a new second layer of 1/2" Plywood just to be sure.
I found a utility box at Pep Boys that would help hold the nose down when I crawled into the rear door.
I sealed the new flooring with Porch & Deck paint just in case something spilled and soaked through the new carpet.

I found a side access door on ebay that just happens to be the same size as the side windows.
I sanded off all the old NHRA paint because an internet search showed me they weren't concerned about preserving any hystory on this trailer.
And started painting the frame to stop any rusting.
The cargo door needed at least 3/4" thickness to mount so I built a frame with 3/4" hardwood to give the screws something to bite into.

The crash-proof lights all worked after I traced down a bad ground on my van.
and the roof showed no possibility for leaks.
So I decided to put a solar panel on top to keep my 12v flight box battery charged. A couple 1" square steel tubes painted and capped did the trick. Bolted on to the outer section of the frame extrusion prevented any possibility of causing a leak.
Homemade aluminum straps hold the panel to the rack.
I added a 14" square roof vent just to insure the hot air had the most direct route to escape.
I put it toward the rear door where I could reach in and easily crank it open or closed as needed.

I found a local RV repair shop that liked both Seniors and Veterans and allowed me to use his shop to paint the outside of my trailer.
I had to test fit a couple of airplanes for my trip to Texas to visit my grand kids.
The box mounted on the front wall is the Solar Charge Controller. The 12v battery is in the bottom of the roll-a-round tool box. It is kept at a consistent 14.2v.
The side cargo door allows me to access the tools and also slide my EZ-Up in there which helps keep the nose of the trailer loaded enough so I can step in from the back door when not hooked up to the tow vehicle.
I mounted a camera and 5.8Ghz Tx to the front wall powered by the flight box. With an FPV monitor I can check the ride of the load from the driver's seat at any time - usually after hitting a big bump.
I also have a remote activated LED light system that I can turn on from a pocket fob so that I can see the load even at night.
1,200 miles later it made it to Wichita Falls, Tx on the way to Tyler, Tx.
After the 4,000+ mile trip through 11 states in 30 days, it was never unhooked and the airplanes, quads and sailboats arrived unscratched.
Except for the wings to the Corsair which I forgot and left in Tyler and they had to be mailed back to me at home.
Ya can't think of everything.

Attached is a warning for all of you who have cargo trailers with top vents - almost ALL are made of plastic that DOES sun rot and depart when you least expect it. I discovered it was missing when unloading my daughter at college in the rain. When I grabbed some of her clothing bags and they were wet, I looked up and saw sky. After biting my tongue (school has strong religious affiliations and I didn't want to hurt any listening ears), I reached up to crank the vent I must have left open closed. You can guess my surprise to find it was already closed. We did not finish unloading that night and it was supposed to rain at least another 2 inches before morning. My quick and simple "fix" held well during the rains and was properly replaced the next day.

Bill,
I gave $900 for it with brand new tires. Then I put about $300 into it with the Side Cargo door, Roof vent, Carpet and Paint.
The local Carson Dealer told me she could get $4,000 for it from her friends just to haul miniature horses in it. I may take her up on it. I really want a 18' Travel Trailer that just needs to sleep me and haul a few models in addition to what I can haul in my van.

Pulled the doors, window and frt cap-replacing , corroded alum sheet in frt that attempted to be repaired. also resealed roof and rebuilt all doors and installed sheeting where window was removed.
Junked the roof top a/c and generator.

Does it need to be an RV awning ? Rv awnings seem to gt expensive. Although that's what I have on mine, if I were looking for one, I'd look at awning designed for decks and patios, that attach to your house.
A couple months ago, I saw a 10'X8'' awning at Menard's, for $400.00.
Here's a pic of my RV awning. I picked it up, used, from an RV repair facility.
