Default Ultracote do not stick?

Hello
I have some problems with the Ultracote on one wing. In fact, i used Ultracote everywhere on my plane but the Ultracote (red/white)on the bottom right wing does not stick to the balsa like the other surface? It peels off every times after 4 or 6 flights? I have put a second sheet of Ultracote this weekend to repair it but Is there some reason that could explain that?

Oil on the wood from the engine exhaust??? If you have oil on the wood, try and remove as much of it as possible. You might try some Balsarite if it does it again. Good Luck, Dave

If everything is clean, and you used enough heat, maybe you got a bad roll of covering. It does happen.

Although Monokote is not as good as it was a few years ago it is still excellent if you want the best looking and longest lasting finish.

I used monokote in the past but after 2 roll of bad batch, i switched to Ultracote which is a lot easier to work then Monokote.

I think my problem is more on the wood that Ultracote because the covering peel-off only in a specicic location under the wing...

I am still studying if Sig Six-it or Balsarate would be better? I heard that Balsarate could look very bad after a season on white Ultrakote/monokote...

Hi!
Sounds strange . I have used Oracover since day one more than 20 yeras ago and not once seen a bad roll of film.
Are you sure you have max heat on the iron??
I you checked the wing for oil...which means the film will not stick!

Try this, with the covering peeled back, put on a coat of any of the aliphatic glues such as Titebond. let the glue dry. Now pull the loose covering over the glued area and iron it down. I'll bet the covering now stays put. If you try it, let us know the results as this has worked for me.
