Default 1/16"x3/16" bolts

I'm looking for a source for some slot headed steel bolts and nuts for a canopy I'm building on a 1/4 scale Tiger Moth. They are about 1/16" in diameter by 3/16" long with hex nuts. The usual sources like RTL don't carry bolts that small.Any lideas where I might find some?.
Thanks Steve

#0 is .060 diameter, 1/16 is .0625: sounds close enough to me.

"Bolts" imply something that is 1/4" in diameter or larger.

What type of head (round, flat, fillister, pan) are you looking for on the machine screws. Here's a link to Micro Fasteners page for Machine Screws [link=http://www.microfasteners.com/catalog/products/MSC.cfm]http://www.microfasteners.com/catalog/products/MSC.cfm[/link]

You might also try your local ACE HARDWARE store. They have all the stuff not normally found anyware. You could also check the local LOWE'S or HOME DEPOT in the hardware isle with the pull out drawers. I got some extra 4-40 x 3/4" machine screws there but that is about as small as they get.

Steve. I had another thought after I provided the above information. Screws/bolts are specified in their body diameter. When you said 1/16th, did you mean body diameter, or head diameter. 00-90 round head are .081 diameter, which is still larger than the 1/16 I think you are looking for. http://www.microfasteners.com/catalo...cts/MSCRMB.cfm

Ya Les body diameter,I have to use a 1/16" bit to drill the hole for the b0lts(machine screws)in the lexan and the bolts I have are a bit snug going in.Both canopies need about 100 fasteners total.I think the 0-80's are a bit bigger. The ones I have are about half the size of a 2-56 bolt.
Thanks Steve

If none of these other sources has what you are looking for, head for www.mcmaster.com (McMaster-Carr) and do a search on Machine Screws. From there, you'll be given choices for body size (I presume you will select size 0 ), head type, etc.... just narrow the field. I found some SST screws for about $10/pkg of 100.

Check Micromark Tools. They have some small brass bolts used for model railroading.
