Charge transport and storage.....

1 Attachment(s)
I for one have had enough of the classic wrapping the cord around the charger everytime im done using or need to transport it. I had a niftie Idea after spotting this case at Harbore freight. I currently have started swapping out my NIMH ith LIFE and LIPO batteries. I purchased a Duatrax onxy 245 to go along with the Onyx 240 I already have. Now Instead of 1 charger I'm tooting 2 to the field on top of all the other junk that needs to make the trip. 1 issue I had initiallly was my charger and its cords and connectors are getting banged up.... My solution.... I can disconnect the power cables and leave them t home and utilize the side 12v inputs when I'm at the field while my chargers stay protected.

RE: Charge transport and storage.....

This is a kewl idea for a charger platform. These cases from Harbor freight are awesome, and very affordable........ I am currently using two of these cases to transport my radio's to the field. Its alot cheaper than the radio cases I've seen, and the foam can be cutout to fit two radio's in each case, and your buddy box cords, spare charger, and accessories fit really nicely in the lid behind that flap too..........

I am also looking to build a charger box out of this box as well, and glad to see that someone else has successfully been able to do this with this case. I did have one curiosity question for you though..... looking at your pics, I see you have the foam right up to the charger sides. How did you account for the air needed to circulate around the chargers to allow adequate airflow so your chargers don't get too hot?

Thanks,
Dax

Thanks for checking it out... Honestly I looked at it from this perpective.... It's sitting on top of the foam similar to being on a counter. Also by sticking the charger under the hood of my car to charge it's actually hotter than it being in the case.lol Lastly I don't continuosly charge batteries. I charge 2 or 3 batteries when I fly and thats it. I have not noticed the charges getting any hotter than normal. If you're doing lipos constantly It may cause the temp inside the case to be higher.....
