Weights for building
 

I have a good tip for weighing down your balsa when building. I do alot of reloading for my firearms,and I cast lead into a mold that makes lead ingots that are 3" long by 3/4"high and 1 and 1/4" wide. They weigh about 6-8 oz. each.Perfect because the weight is concentrated in a small area. for the size they are. The mold is made by"Lyman".T-pins are good,but I find that they work great for weighing down light plywood. Just thought I would pass this along. I don't know if anyone here is into reloading,but if so,give this a try.

Yes, there great. You must be into shooting, Its good to have another hobby. I have 4 hobbies. I shoot handguns,(45acp) and rifle,(22-250) I shoot in my back yard. I also play guitar for about 40 yrs. I also,have a 2009 Harly heritage softail,and of course this hobby that I love. Oh, almost forgot, My other hobby is my wife. HA, (better delete this)

More weight ideas. Put sand in plastic bags, and them sew them into an old pair of socks.. great for laying on items that need form fitting weight.

Also old nicad drill packs from hand power tools make good flat bottomed weight packs.

Hey! Good idea with the socks! Will my wife's nylons work? Gotta go look for some,If I don't post for a while,that means she sent me outside with my dog for a week.

When I was building a lot, I saved old phone books to use as weights. They conform to many shapes, like wings, and help during covering.
