Well bikerdude I've tried just straight CA but it dosen't hold up, at least on HBird gear, So what I do is use a little CA to set it then wrap the break in black thread and soak it up with a bit of CA let it set up and it should be fine as far as the back strut I haven't broken one yet to figure out a repair but this should help.

well it is nice to see you have bitten the bullet and started being brave. I use araldite or super opoxy for glueing. i broke the tail protector too and had to drill a hole in the plastic to be able to push the rod in. if you do this be carefull not to drill too much as there are wires in the boom. you can buy spares from rchobby.co.uk but they are not cheap, really not cheap. i have just found a carbon fibre site called http://www.highwaymen.demon.co.uk/prices/spars.htm
that sell the carbon rod for a fraction of the price. rchobby ballance bar £11 this is 6in long. highwayman sell 2mm carbon fibre rod £3.20 for 1.5 metre.
good luck.
be brave.

Rob.

The heli went up a lot better did seem a bit more stable but didnt quite hover still is this normal do i need to be making small movements to the stiks to keep her steady.

Glad i could help. the problem i am having is i bought my skylark second hand and assumed it was as it should be. i now believe it had a big crash. one thing i have found is the ballance bar (little paddle rotor connector) seems to be half the length it should be causing bad stability. i was ok for a few seconds hovering then away it would go. Yours should be more stable but will still need some correcting from you. imagine trying to keep a marble in the centre of a plate, small movements are the only way to do it. i dont know what charger you have, i bought a £30 one from rchobby which can fast charge in 15-20 mins. i also have a spare battery pack and am designing a bracket to make swithcing them easy. I am grounded at the moment untill i can get the 2mm carbon fibre rod for my ballance bar so you will probably overtake me on flight time soon. if your copter shakes a bit, make sure the rotors are ballanced. my new tail rotor made the back end shake like mad until i took it off and put a small rod through it and found one side was heaviey. i put some insulating tape on the light side and kept trimming bits off with a knife untill it ballanced. now it is as steady as a rock.
Keep trying.
BE BRAVE.

Rob.

Me grounded out that the moment but me some 2mm rod from the site you gave what a good saving that is. I'm sure i have everything balanced but what i have noticed is my balance bar with the paddles just looks slightly bent up wards as so the force from it spinning round has done this, could that have a effect. Do you need to lubricate any parts for maintenance like the cogs. I do have 2 battery's but only have the standard charger that comes with it do i need to buy a better ?. I have made myself a hanger out of soft ammonium battery does not fall out any more but battery lays a little front heavy were do hang your battery and how important is to get it right. Cant wait to get the new rod and get some flying done.

the whole copter hangs from the main shaft connected to the main rotors so i am trying to move the centre of balance directally under that. i will do this by moving the battery about. If i am wrong about this a hope someone will correct me. as for the charger, if you are happy waiting for it to charge up that is ok. I am impatiant and dont like to wait which causes the batteries to get hot. i believe the flightbar paddle should be exactly level with the flight bar. i had some pitch on mine which didnt seem to bother it as long as it was the same amount on both paddles. however i have removed the pitch as many people on this board have advised. I have just ordered my carbon fibre rod today and also look forward to trying it out but i dont know how long the balance bar should be, maby you can help with that by measuring yours. i would be very gratefull.
Later Dude.

Mine also snapped and I tried using CA on it to no avail.. I found a thick plastic and just made my own holder out of it...
